Re[3]: BUG IN BACKUP procedure: Re[2]: 3.61.07

2005-09-28 Thread Vili
Hello Goncalo,

I have 2 messages created with TB (messages I sent) simply stall
the TB's backup procedure for every TB! released since version
3.51.8 (or 3.51.10). At least 3.51.8 was the last version where I
was able to do a full backup of my message base without issues.

the thread (where I complaint mostly solo) is under the subject
Maintenance Centre Bug? and here is a mid: for the last message:
 mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
ASK I can confirm that the backup stalls when store external
ASK attachments in message body is selected.
ASK I can back up just fine with 3.51.10, but 3.60.07 and 3.61.07
ASK hang after only 6 percent. Everytime at the same point, in the
ASK same folder. Its a pity we don't have a detailed backup log for
ASK debugging purposes, therefore I haven't yet looked for any single
ASK specific message that make the backup hang (and I certainly don't
ASK intend to do that if its not absolutely neccessary, since that
ASK folder contains 700 messages).
Thanks for your confirmation. We're three now... anyone else?

I will test it and bug down for the specific mail, if I observe it.
Promise :))

This is the old known bug, see https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=5075.

I think it lies deep inside The Bat!'s sources and I doubt it's going to
be fixed, just like faulty operation with the MS Exchange server via
MAPI (Maxim Masiutin knows what I'm talking about) or the incorrect
encoding translation of LDAP search results (bugtrack id #4945).

Thanks for the confirmation.
But I don't think it is a very old bug. Everything works fine in 3.60.02.

Corrupted attachments in 3.61.07

2005-09-26 Thread Robert van der Hulst
Group,

I have the following problem:

I am using a mailserver that forwards newsgroup messages to a pop3 mailbox.
Lately I have discovered that Thebat corrupts attachments that are part of
the newsgroup message.

The original attachment are encoded like this in the news message:

begin 666 grafx03.xls
MT,\1X*QN$`/@`#`/[_0!
M`0``$ [EMAIL PROTECTED]
M
.
.
.
M
:
`
end

TB converts this to an other encoding format. The message inside TB has the
following encoding:

Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary=[EMAIL PROTECTED]@[EMAIL
PROTECTED]@0D1B7
.
.
.
.
[EMAIL PROTECTED]@[EMAIL PROTECTED]@0D1B7
Content-Type: application/octet-stream; name=grafx03.xls
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64

0M8R4KGxGuEAPgADAP7/CQAGAAABAQAA
EgEAAAD+AAD/

If I download the message with 3.60.02 and save the attachment in 3.60.02
the attachment is fine.

When I download the message with 3.61.07 and save the attachment in 3.61.07
the attachment is corrupted.

The problem is not the actual saving of the message but the conversion from
the encoding format.

Has anyone else seen this ?

Re: Corrupted attachments in 3.61.07

2005-09-26 Thread Eugene Gladchenko
Robert,

I have discovered that Thebat corrupts attachments that are part of
 the newsgroup message.
The original attachment are encoded like this in the news message:

RvdH I have reported this in BT under the id 5144 with attachments
RvdH showing the source of an example message.

I tried all possible combinations :)

Here it is: [CTRL][ALT][TAB]

But you must specify the current focused pane. [CTRL][TAB] still does
its work if the focus is on message pane. And [CTRL][ALT][TAB] works
if you are in the message list window.

Try to narrow it down to messages with attachments. To find the
offending messages I created a folder named NOK and OK. I moved ALL my

Auto-filtering has stopped working on one of my IMAP accounts with this
 beta. Anyone else?

Forgot to mention that the log DOES show that something is being
filtered, it just doesn't get moved from the INBOX to the filtered to
folder.

Just reverted back to 3.61.01 and filtering on IMAP accounts works again
perfectly.

Re: 3.61.07, Message list tab problems

2005-09-23 Thread Vili
Hello Maxim,

 [+] Tabs: d'n'd editing ability
I see the new buttons instead of the toolbar on the Options,
Preferences, Tabs pane,

BUT:

1. Right click on the tabs on the main screen: Delete or Close. What
is the difference between the two? None of them delete the item...
Choosing one of them makes the tab disappear, but they are not really
deleted, just unchecked. See the popup menu, so the fuction of
Delete/Close could have been done by just unchecking any item in the
popup menu...

I suggest that simply take that two items (Delete/Close) out from that
local menu... Deletion a tab can be done from Options, Preferences.
Somebody misclick in this local menu and will be mad... He can uncheck
any item here, if he wants, but should not be able to delete anything
permanently. But this is just IMHO...

2. Options, Preferences, Tabs pane: if you have an Unread fast
search tab there, it is impossible to delete that. Any other tab can
be deleted. This particular one cannot. If you hit Delete on it, it
disappears. But when you quit this window and go back, it still there,
unchecked.

[-] Tabs: now when selecting folder temporary aren't removed and tab doesn't
 change
It is done, working fine.

 [-] AV on printing
Confirmed fixed.

I am not sure that I understand your terminology: message view mode
and master view and master menu.

Is message view mode a View Mode that you have set up?

I thought perhaps you meant the Preview Pane, which is enabled from
The Bat!/View/Message auto-view setting.

So I enabled that (it's not my preference; I normally use View Folder
as my window) and I printed just fine from it.

Also, as I reported to Maxim, I can print okay from the View Folder
window.

If you'll tell me further what you mean by message view mode and
master view I will try to test and confirm.

This has not always been the case. TB is the highest in my task

Agreed. This has been report on bug track. Still not resolved.

Auto-filtering has stopped working on one of my IMAP accounts with this
beta. Anyone else?

It has not stopped working, it just seems to work intermittently. I
don't see any real pattern. Also have pauses when selecting IMAP
accounts, sometimes, that freeze the machine completely.

I suspect there must be something when Maxim or 9Val compiles TB!...
