Re: CSAPI dictionary (was: More SmartBat/Scheduler monkeybusiness
Hello Jernej, Hmm, I've heard somewhere that M$ stopped supporting CSAPI in Office XP, but it should work with 2k - at lease I can choose Slovenian (CSAPI) from the spell checker menu. I'm missing the English and German CSAPI entries though (I have those two dictionaries installed, too; with Office 97 I did have English CSAPI entry in TB). I never tried with 97 but, as I say, TB doesn't seem to see any CSAPI dics with Office 2000 or XP. At least in my system. Thanks anyway. -- Best regards, Miguel A. Bug? Color Groups are lost when deleting messages to trash
Hi, I have a filter set up that marks messages read and assigns them to a certain color group when SpamAssassin thinks they're spam. So far, so good. When I delete these messages to trash, some (not all) 'lose' their color group. Recently I had 93 bounces going to one account, when a spammer used one of my domain names in his From-Addresses to send spam. All were marked as spam. I deleted all 93 mails (all at once, all were in the same folder). 38 retained their color group, the rest did not. There's no apparent pattern. Does anyone know what's wrong? TB got bloated
My evaluation continues (very well so far with everybody's help, thank you all). For the next step I imported all Eudora emails into TB (19,000 emails in all, across about 30 folders). At first TB was VERY SLOW to respond to the point I thought it was locking up. I then hid the ticker (all the newly imported mssgs were 'new' to TB) and TB seems OK again. Which leads me to ask a question... In Eudora 3 folders are loaded at startup: IN, OUT, TRASH. To make sure Eudora stays responsive these folders can be kept smaller. Does TB load anything to memory at startup that users can keep an eye on should performance start to degrade? (I think I proved the ticker can be a sticking point.) Hi Christopher, CB Hi Batters, CB Is there a way to resend an email that has already been sent CB (shift-f6), with the ability to edit it first? Yes. Account Properties - Transport - check deferred on delivery. Then the 're-send' command just puts in the the outbox for you. If the box below (combined delivery) is checked, it will go out automatically then next timed mail check. If it is not, you will have to shift-F2 to send your outbox. Re: TB v2 strange behavior
Hello Melissa, On Mon, 15 Sep 2003 you wrote in mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sometimes when a new message comes into a folder, I'll hear the new message sound, but the new messages list in the folder tree will not show in bold font until I actually click on that folder. What's worse is that it does it in the outbox to. I normally don't look at it as all mail is instantly sent apart from when I do a mass mailing using a template. I did this recently and selected 65 mails with fairly large attachments to send but the outbox remained stubbornly empty so I reran the template but still an empty outbox. After a third attempt I happened to click on the outbox and there were 195 messages complete with large attachments all ready to go. Not only would the recipients have been very annoyed but so would I! Fortunately I was able to delete them all and start again before the next scheduled blink which happens every 5 minutes! This has happened every time since that I have messages waiting in the outbox. I normally click on the send immediately button for individual mails. -- Best regards, Richard | Using The Bat! 2.00.6 SpamPal | Windows 2000 (build 2195), version 5.0 Service Pack 4 | and using the best browser: Opera7 Current version is 2.00 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
retreiving read mail
Hello BAT-s, I have Bat installed on my Notebook and Desktop. Mail-management is set on Notebook to *Leave messages on the server* and on my Desktop to *Delete received messages from the server*. Is it possible to set it up in such a way that the messages I read on the Notebook first, would show as read on my Desktop when I retrieve them again? Would be a helpful feature if possible. -- Best regards, Peter Kerekes (Toronto, Canada) It matters not whether you win or lose; what matters is whether I win or lose. -- Darrin Weinberg Using The Bat! v2.00.6 on Windows 98 Current version is 2.00 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Blocking Bat mail
Anyone hear know about this garbage? I have an answer to my problem not receiving your e-mail. Can't believe they really followed through. My ISP called this morning to tell me the reason is, they have blocked any Bat program messages. Made sense to me because I know you use Bat e-mail program. They told most spam comes on Bat program, and they have blocked it, and can't unblock the whole program, for just little old me. I am happy to find out the problem, but very sad to not be able to get you contributions to the list. Hang on to your hat, until Isabel passes, I am thinking of you and everyone on the east coast. In a perfect world, you could ask someone who has successfully configured exactly what you want, right? So start going down the list of less-than-perfect - you might find someone using the same secure configs, with the same firewall, same OS, etc. but with a different e-mail client. Although I've used TheBat! for a long time, I just recently joined this list, and have not read your prior posts. I know how frustrating problems like your can be, and I sympathize. Re[5]: Junk plug-in
Hi Gunivortus, It seems MANY batters *are* successfully using Bayesit as a plug-in. I (and at least 1 other batter) have seen our bats not starting until we either reinstall TB *or* del/rename the c:\Bayesit directory. (Fully re4peatable procedure.) GG I had some problems too in the beginning, one of them was the c:\Bayesit GG directory. After I used c:\Program Files\Bayesit it ran. But don't ask GG me why! :-) The newest version of Bayesit! TB! doesn't load folders into memory at startup - the folders are loaded/unloaded when you actually select them. I have over 500,000 of messages in all my accounts and don't experience any slowdowns.
