[Bug 110470] Re: Kaffeine crashes ALWAYS

2007-11-26 Thread YAFU
[Diwaker Gupta = Say] In fact, I can induce this crash without even
playing any media. With Xine selected as the Kaffeine backend, simply go
to Settings - Xine Engine Parameters to cause the crash

I had the same problem in Xine-ui and Kaffeine. In both, the problem has
been originated when in the Xine parameters I set Audio and Video Buffer
= 0 (In engine tab). I have solved it removing the configuration files
like this:

https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kaffeine/+question/11061

Bye.

[Bug 172974] Re: Firefox 2.0.0.10 some times crashes and it is closed, in Kubuntu

2007-11-29 Thread YAFU
The error was originated when I entered in some sites with a text field.
But it was not necessary that I write on the field so that firefox
crashes.

I have untick the spell check option and I have solved the problem.

In Spanish:
El error se producía al entrar en algunos sitios con un campo para texto. No
era necesario escribir sobre el campo para que firefox produzca el error.

Lo he solucionado desmarcando la opción verificar ortografía al tipear
y reiniciando firefox.

Public bug reported:

I can't install Kubuntu 8.04 [Hardy Heron LTS] on Asus M2A-VM HDMI (ATI

I started the text mode installation and everything goes well. The installation
ends successfully. Starting the system, the Kubuntu splash screen is shown and
the system load begins. But after that, the monitor goes into standby mode and
the monitor shows only a black screen. I can't do nothing after that.

But after that, the monitor goes into standby mode and the monitor shows only a
black screen and I can't do nothing after that.

2008-05-03 Thread YAFU
Well, I'm totally bewildered.
Today I tried to install Kubuntu 8.04 again, on the same hardware and with the
same CDs. Everything worked fine this time. On this occasion, after usplash
screen the monitor goes off only about 3 seconds but then load correctly the X.
I do not remember having changed some settings in the BIOS.
I do not know if my problem will have to do with these other bugs:

2007-05-31 Thread YAFU
Hardware Info:

BenQ ATAPI-CD ROM-DRIVE-56MAX (IDE)
LITE-ON DVDRW LH-18A1P (IDE)
Disks:

You have seen the differences between Feisty Alternate Installation and Feisty
Desktop Installation? sdx, hdx or mixed? It is correct?
Also in both installations I had a lot of problems which CD-ROM and DVD-ROM
mounting, and I can't add Feisty CD as a repository with sudo apt-cdrom add
command.
Any way, this topic has been posted a month ago, and now I am using Edgy again.
Thanks.

[Bug 110916] Kubuntu Feisty takes IDE devices like SATA or mix

[Bug 110916] Re: Kubuntu Feisty takes IDE devices like SATA. Or mix?

2007-04-29 Thread YAFU
** Description changed:

I have two IDE hard drivers, one IDE CD-ROM and IDE DVD-ROM. Feisty shows all
of them like SATA devices in a fresh installation with Kubuntu Desktop CD.
Also, CD-ROM and DVD-ROM are not mounted in default mounted point
(/media/cdrom0 and /media/cdrom1), they are mounted in /media.
  Everything is a disaster.

+ New Edited
+
+ I do a new installation but from Alternate CD this time. In the new
installation I obtain a better fstab. Now IDE disk is detected like hd* and not
like sd*, but the mounted points continues being /media/sdx. This is not so bad.
+ Anyway, I continue having the problem that I have mentioned before with the
CD-ROM. It continues mounting in /media not in /media/cdrom0 (Although fstab
shows another thing) and for example, I cannot set the Kubuntu CD like
repositorie.
+ Why is everything so confused and mixed in fstab and mounted points?

After Kubuntu Edgy to Feisty upgrade using the Network Upgrade like is
described in:
  http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/upgrading

I get a problem in some KDE applications like Kget, Ktorrent and
Kweather. My system is in Spanish language, for that reason I am going
to try to translate the error messages that I obtain:

Kget: in any download I obtain the message: kget was unable to connect
  to the server

Kweather: I obtain the message: Unable to find Network.

Ktorrent: don't connect and when I put a file to download, window is
enlarged and It is not possible to reconfigure.

+ **Edited:
+
+ I have been able to solve the problem. I have an USB ADSL modem. My
motherboard has an onboard network card and it is detected by kNetworkManager.
+ Disabling the network card from KNetworkManager, K applications can be
connected to the network now.

[Bug 271072] Re: only X server when booting Safe Graphics Mode with 64-bit Kubuntu 8.10 Alpha 5 Intrepid Ibex

2008-12-06 Thread YAFU
The same problem here. I have the same motherboard (M2A-VM HDMI - ATI
X1250 Integrated video) and I get a black screen at the end of the
splash presentation in Kubuntu Desktop 8.10 64b Final.

*** Curiosity:
I had the same problem that happened to Sander with Kubuntu 8.04. In the first
attempts booting did not passed the splash screen.. Then, in following days
everything worked well.
I do not understand what is happening.
This is my previous report:

[Bug 355513] Re: Suspend-resume works only the first time on Jaunty 64 bits and never after (solved)

2009-09-29 Thread YAFU
Is there any chance that someone is interested in this bug and resolution for
Jaunty users?
The title Solved is wrong. It is not solved yet, it still being a bug.
I tried the kernel of Karmic in Jaunty and Suspend/Resume works perfectly, but
I have some other problems with it.
Thanks.

[Bug 478557] [NEW] System becomes slow while copying files to disk using 2.6.31-14.48 kernel and amd64

2009-11-08 Thread YAFU
Public bug reported:

The problem is that when I copy files to the disk (above to ~50MB and tested
from konsole or dolphin), the system becomes slow and unusable until the task
is complete. Also, copying the file takes a long time to complete. Once the
copy is finished, everything is normal again.
I have also noticed that with other tasks that require the use of the disk you
get a bad system performance, for example when installing programs.
I installed an earlier version of Karmic kernel (2.6.31-11.36) and these
problems do not happen, everything works fine with it.

I have installed Kubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala 64 bits (upgraded from 9.04
Jaunty), ext3 filesystem.

[Bug 338628] Re: [M24] Kubuntu: corrupted graphics, choppy scrolling

2009-07-17 Thread YAFU
Similar problem here.
Usually I get corruption at the top of the screen in konqueror and Dolphin. The
problem in Kate often appears between the text of the center. Sometimes appear
as the file attached by Martin, others like screenshot that I uploaded. Not
only happend doing scrolling, sometimes also by clicking on show desktop and
then returning to dolphin or konqueror, as if it failed to redraw properly the
top of the screen and displays it merged with the wallpaper.
The problem does not always happen and sometimes part of the corrupted image is
fixed by passing the mouse over it.
I have Kubuntu 9.04 with KDE 4.2.96 (KDE 4.3 RC2), but also I had the problem
with earlier versions.
My computer has an onboard ATI x1250 and the driver I use is
xserver-xorg-video-radeon and I have the compositing enabled. I tried with
EXA and XAA but I have the problem with both. With XAA is happening more often.
Bye.

At the moment I did not get back graphics corruptions in KDE/qt apps.
I updated this packages:

xserver-xorg-video-ati
xserver-xorg-video-radeon
xserver-xorg-core
libgl1-mesa-dri
libgl1-mesa-glx
libdrm-radeon1
libdrm2

The launchpad xorg-edgers:

https://launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/ppa

Important parts of my xorg.conf are:

Section Module
Load glx
Load dri
EndSection

Section Device
Identifier Configured Video Device
Driver radeon
Option AccelMethod EXA
Option DRI on
EndSection

Section DRI
Mode 0666
EndSection

I suggest that If you have fix the problem by updating the packages, keep the
drivers installed but disable xorg-edgers repositories.
Otherwise, having a worse performance, remove the xorg-edgers repositories from
sources.list, uninstall the packages that have been updated, do a apt-get
update and re-install them.

To date, the version of drivers that I mentioned are
“6.12.99+git20090729”

Bye.

[Bug 838130] Re: Kernel 3.0 breaks DVB-T (ISDB-Tb) in DiBcom 8000

2011-10-13 Thread YAFU
Tested with the latest Oneiric kernel (3.0.0-12.20) and the mainline kernel
(3.1.0-0301rc9.201110050905). The problem is still present in both versions.
dmesg shows:
dib0700: tx buffer length is larger than 4. Not supported.

The link below mentions that the patch fixes the problem:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=639161

In the link I had written earlier and is now impossible to enter
(https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41232) , some users commented that
the solution to the official kernel was newly scheduled for Kernel 3.2.
Thanks.

Meanwhile, people with this problem can install new versions of the drivers

[Bug 478557] Re: System becomes slow while copying files to disk using 2.6.31-14.48 kernel and amd64

2010-04-30 Thread YAFU
Hello.
I've tried with the latest kernel for karmic (2.6.34-020634rc2) and the problem
still happening.
But it only happens on my Kubuntu 9.10 upgraded from 9.04, as I had mentioned
in the report. The problem does not happen with a clean installation of Kubuntu
9.10 or 10.04 in the same machine and hardware.
I do not know if you want me to do other tests, because in the coming days I
will eliminate this system to install the new Kubuntu 10.04.
Thank you.

[Bug 576555] Re: screen flicker ubuntu 10.04 ati x1400

2010-06-20 Thread YAFU
I have the same problem with an integrated ATI Radeon 1250. Kubuntu 10.04 64bits
The screen flashes always occur when you modify screen settings from
systemsettings, or launching KrandRTray. Launching any application installed on
Wine too. The display flashes for a few seconds..
Sometimes also after de flickers the screen becomes corrupted in some sectors,
and then restored.

[Bug 582031] Re: suspend to RAM doesn't work with Kubuntu 10.04 on Acer5530g

2010-06-22 Thread YAFU
Suspend to RAM fails in Kubuntu 10.04 64bit on my PC (ASUS M2A-VM HDMI, 1GB
RAM). Sometimes suspended to RAM works the first time, sometimes not. Then
failure is more common.
In my case, I think everything is related to RAM and Swap, and how they work. I
have only 1GB of RAM. I changed the swappiness from 60 to 30 to reduce the Swap
usage, and since then, Suspend-Resume problems were significantly reduced.

[Bug 582031] Re: suspend to RAM doesn't work with Kubuntu 10.04 on Acer5530g

2010-06-22 Thread YAFU
@Tommy_CZ
I have 1GB of swap.
I have never used hibernation. I'm pretty sure my problem with 2.6.32-22 kernel
is related to what I have mentioned before, I have not major problems since I
modified the swappiness.

Anyway I'm testing the 2.6.34-020634 kernel with swappiness=60 and seems
to manage better RAM and Swap usage, and till now I had no problems
suspending to RAM in five attempts.

By the way, to install the mainstream Kernel, go to the folder v2.6.34-lucid/
and download the packages in a folder linux-headers(all), linux-headers(for
your system architecture) and linux-image(for your system architecture)
(they are 3 packages). Then enter to the download folder, open terminal and run
sudo dpkg -i *.deb. At the end of installation, restart your computer and
enter from the new Kernel in Grub.
If it runs worse with the new kernel, to uninstall simply search for 2.6.34
in your package manager and uninstall the three packages.

[Bug 658870] [NEW] [Google Earth]Maps are displayed wrong and radial lines appear-Kubuntu 10.10 64bits

2010-10-11 Thread YAFU
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ia32-libs

Happens the problem described in the title, as shown in the image I
uploaded. Bad visualization. Radial lines and the map is incomplete at
the edges.

I do not know if it's a problem in Google Earth or ia32 libraries, but I
suspect it is a problem with ia32-libs because as I said in the next link, also
the same problem occurs in Kubuntu 10.04 Lucid 64 bits if I install the
Maverick ia32-libs.

[Bug 652401] [NEW] [ATI Radeon x1250] KWin Desktop effects not active by default

2010-09-30 Thread YAFU
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

I have installed Kubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat (beta) Updated to date
(RC packages I think).

My motherboard is ASUS M2A-VM HDMI with integrated video card ATI Radeon x1250.
Using free drivers xserver-xorg-video-radeon 1:6.13.1-1ubuntu5, libgl1-mesa-dri
7.9~git20100924-0ubuntu1.

Have acceleration:
$ glxinfo | grep direct
direct rendering: Yes

But the desktop effects are disabled and from SystemSettings in Desktop
Effects all options are disabled and I can not change any option of
them.

Maybe this is related to:

[Bug 652401] Re: [ATI Radeon x1250] KWin Desktop effects not active by default

2010-09-30 Thread YAFU
More information.
I tried this workaround (Rog131 sugestion):
http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/index.php?topic=3113529.0

and I can enable the effects and compositing. But with the effects I
have a bad performance with some flickers. Also with the effects enabled
I have bad performance on video playback.

[Bug 268434] Re: Screen Resolution is not being restored after relogin

2010-09-30 Thread YAFU
Is it supposed to KMS should help to identify the native resolution of LCD? Is
it supposed to set the resolution from SystemSettings then it must be
remembered in next login without any xorg.conf configuration?
If so, this bug still happens in Kubuntu Maverick RC 10.10 to date. The native
LCD resolution is not detected, and screen resolution settings are not restored
when you re-login.

[Bug 576555] Re: [x1400] screen flicker (lucid)

2010-10-01 Thread YAFU
@kurt belgrave, I did not have flickers or flashes again in exactly the
same conditions in Maverick, ie the login or when changing the display
properties. That is, with regard to this bug I think that no longer
happens in Maverick, but with desktop effects enabled is a bad
performance in general: flicker, screen corruption, poor performance on
video playback, etc. You can see my xorg log in this report:

[Bug 653652] [NEW] [Realtek ALC883] No audio/sound with pulseaudio in Kubuntu Maverick 10.10

2010-10-02 Thread YAFU
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

I have installed Kubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat (beta) Updated to date
(RC packages I think, and KDE SC 4.5.1).

My motherboard is ASUS M2A-VM HDMI with integrated Realtek ALC883.

KMix shows very few configuration options. From SystemSettings I have selected
as preferred device my stereo analog device, but does not work and I not hear
anything when I press the test button. In SystemSettings do not appear items
related to pulseaudio as I believe was in Lucid if you have installed
pulseaudio.
I tried installing pavucontrol and it have more options than KMix. When
playing with VLC, pavucontrol shows variations on the meters as if it detects
the audio, but I get no audio outputs.
I've also tried selecting Alsa as driver in the players but still does not
work.

[Bug 1182211] Re: Nvidia module fails to load on Kubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail

2013-06-01 Thread YAFU
Hello croaker.
Could you give details of your machine?
I've seen that in Ubuntu 13.04 there are many problems with notebooks with
Intel CPU and nVidia graphics card. I suspect that this problem also may be
related to desktop computers that have Intel processor with iGPU and of
multi-GPU or multi-monitor features. My computer is an Intel i7-3770 on an
Asus P8Z77-V LX.

[Bug 1166401] [NEW] [Kubuntu 13.04 beta 2]Monitor goes into PowerSaving mode during installation

2013-04-08 Thread YAFU
Public bug reported:

I've installed Kubuntu 13.04 beta 2 (64 bits). Approximately 7 or 10 minutes

The monitor should not go into power saving mode during installation,

Public bug reported:

I tried to install the nvidia drivers from additional drivers (jockey-kde) or

I've tried with the versions 304, 313 and 319 from the Xorg Edgers PPA

I get the same problem with all combinations.

the Nvidia card, and as I said before with nouveau works well.
