Nightlys are not running database update scripts, you need to run them yourself or go for production packages buying support.

Something like running
/usr/share/doc/sogo-3.2.10.20180212/sql-update-3.2.10_to_4.0.0.sh
should fix the issue.

There are some posts and tickets about this.

Cheers

It was posted earlier this month on the list, i guess it could help to get the account properly configured.

not sure if i got you right (created a test user and added several calendars called room1, room,..)

maybe it's best to reate the roms as ldap resources (see https://sogo.nu/files/docs/SOGoInstallationGuide.html 5.4. Authentication using LDAP ff), kind = thing specifying a MultipleBookingsFieldName and setting it to 1.

btw: is there a reason to use version 2.3.* - why not use 3.2.* ?

Subject: [SOGo] Block making two entries in one calendar at the same time

Hello,

at the moment we are evaluating SOGo Version 2.3.22 on 16.04.3 LTS.

The goal is to replace mrbs (Meeting Room Booking System,
http://mrbs.sourceforge.net),
which ist integrated into our software MIDAS, a software-package for Hearing
Aid Dispensers.

So far, we found that SOGo fits to our needs very well, but there is one
critical point left.

This is what we have done so far:

We created a test user and added several calendars called room1, room2,
room3. Then we chose the "Multicolumn Dayview" and the calendars are
displayed side by side.

But it is possible to create more than one calendar entries for the same
calendar and the same time.
This means that one room can be occupied by more than once, but this is not
the way it should work.

For example, in the tine20 calendar, it is not possible to create two
entries in one calendar at the same time.

We've searched this list exhaustively and found some hints to use the
"MultipleBookingsFieldName" configuration option,
but we could not get it to work.

So here are my questions:

1.) Is it possible to configure SOGo to behave as described above?

2.) If the answer is yes, what configurations would I have to make?

My Configuration so far:
/etc/sogo/sogo.conf everything is commented out

/var/lib/sogo/GNUstep/Defaults/sogod.plist see attachment.

Mysql config:

mysql -u sogo -p
Enter password:
mysql> use sogo;
mysql> select c_uid,c_name,kind,multiple_bookings from sogo.sogo_users;
+---++---+---+
| c_uid | c_name | kind | multiple_bookings |
+---++---+---+
| bene | bene | thing | 1 |
| rudi | rudi | thing | 1 |
| sogo | sogo | thing | 1 |
+---++---+---+

I hope, I could give You enough information.
Any hint is welcome, thanks in advance

Best Regards

Siegfried Kurz

maybe it's possible but i would not go for it as openchenge (which is needed for a mapi connection) has passed away.

please have a look at active sync (which is part of sogo), caldavsync ( https://sourceforge.net/projects/outlookcaldavsynchronizer/ ) or even consider changing from outlook to thunderbird.

Thanks, but what is not possible? Using two sources for authentication? That's not a big problem I can copy the users from the AD as you said and using a different credential for the Sogo and the AD is acceptable by the customer.

My MAPI question is still stands. Can an Outlook client connect via MAPI to a Sogo which is not joined to the domain and uses a total independent authentication? If yes, then it's enough for this project.

Thanks again,

Subject: [SOGo] MAPI and multiple authentication source question

Hello!

I'm not sure if is this the right place to ask.

One of our customer wants to set up a calendar server with EAS and MAPI support. I recommended them Sogo. During the project it turned out that the AD they use doesn't contain all the required users due to licensing issues (which can't be resolved in this project). So I have to authenticate from 2 sources, a local LDAP and a remote LDAP provided by the AD. I'm using Dovecot and Exim and they can do this (theoretically).

Here is my questions:

- Does Sogo supports this kind of setup? Can it use 2 LDAP servers?
- If it can use 2 LDAP server then I don't have to join the server to the local domain, am I right?
- Is it possible to use MAPI in this setup?
- If no MAPI is possible how can an Outlook access the calendar data? Is it a preferred way to do this? (Sorry I never used Outlook before.)
- Is it possible in this setup to use SSO? I think not, but luckily this is an optional requirement in the project.

If this can be solved by Sogo then I'll tell the customer to buy a support package.

Thanks,

I wouldn't say I hate it, but we definitely are more in need of a shared
address book, containing all our customer contacts, than one containing our
own addresses.

Just like you we created a shared addressbook and then we wrote a nice little
script that exports all CardDAV contacts from that addressbook and imports
them into a dedicated DIT in our LDAP server.

This way we also get to use the contacts in our SIP-phones and other
applications.

I can not see the contacts in the "Domain Address Book". I know the contacts
are there, because if I write a dot in the search box of the "Address Book"
application they all appear magically. Nevertheless, the Name column is not as
expected (the full name of the contact) but the prefix username of the mail
address (the part before the @ sign).

Am I missing anything? I'm using the last version of everything (SOGo 3.2.10,

Re: [SOGo] thunderbird/lightning/freebusy is there any trick i do not know

2017-07-04 Thread "sg gs"

hello,

installed and configured free/busy extension for thunderbird ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/freebusy/ ).

strange, it's only kind of working in thunderbird 52.2.1 with lightning 5.4.2.1 --

windows: most of the times it will display correct free/busy info but sometimes it displays everyone as free or some of the attendees as when they are not free.

linux (debian 8.8): most of the times it will display incorrect free/busy info (everyone as free, some of the attendees as free when they are not free, but sometime it displays correct free/busy info - kind of inverse to windows).

free/busy data retrieved using wget is always correct.

Groups must have a valid email address, then they work in SOGo for
access privileges too.

Beware that changing a group membership doesn't change the already given
privileges.
The owners of calendars and address books shared based on groups have to
apply those regularly, in order to update the privileges.

thanks francis for the info.

we have plenty of ldap groups ( type = GroupOfUniqueNames ). all these groups do show up in the addressbook but none of does show up in the searchresult list when i try to add a user in the access rights dialog - neither for a calendar nor for an addressbook. so i guess something is configured wrong/uncomplete.

i guess that i missed something. what are the prerequisites for a group to show up?

This is already supported for LDAP sources. We handle object class of type group, groupofnames, groupofuniquenames, and posixgroup.

As far as I know, memberof functionality is not implemented in SOGo.
Therefore it tries to match the attribute "memberof" of the users with
"cn=enterpriseusers,dc=groups,o=example".
This will never work, as no user has that attribute.

I think there is an enhancement request in the bug tracker for this, but
not sure.

[SOGo] ldap addressbooks with filter based on dynamic ldap group

2016-11-04 Thread "sg gs"
hello,

all our active users (besides others) are members of group: cn=enterpriseusers,dc=groups,o=example.

to restrict access to these memberes i added filters

(&(uid=%u)(memberof=cn=enterpriseusers,dc=groups,o=example))

to dovecot and postfix. these filters work perfect for dovecot and postfix (and other systems outside of sogos's scope).

now i would like to add equivalent filters to sogo's login users and the global addresslist. so i tried to add the line

filter = "(memberof=cn=enterpriseusers,dc=groups,o=example)";

to sogo's login-users configuration. the result was, that it was no longer possible to log in for any user. so i removed the fiter and added it to the definition of the global addresslist. the effekt was, that it was no longer possible to search in the gal - no matter, what i typed into the search field , always all members of the gal were displayed.

after modification of the filter to something like

filter = "account-type = enterprise-user"; (which defines a subset of the above list)

only matching users were displayed in the gal and seraching worked fine.

what can i do implement the dovecot and postfix restrictions into sogo's login configuration and address list?

regards, sg

Hello Users,

unfortunately I cannot send any E-Mails from my sogo instance. Ass soon
as I press sent the green dialog (that normally shows sending
successful) appears and never disappears. I cannot remember having
changed anything w.r.t. SOGo. I enabled all debug logging options on in
the config, but I do not get any hint from the logs. The last entries
being that it searches my addressbook for the typed recipient.

Do you have any idea how to figure out what the issue is?

The SOGo just a frontend service, the Openfire Jabber is an other one above the Samba4 AD.

1. freebusy seems to be queried for a person only when the person is first referenced by a meeting - either by a new invitation when schedule information is requesed for this person or after an outlook restart when a meeting containing the person is opened and schedule info is requested. can this be changed so that freebusy information is requested for all persons in a meeting whenever a meeting is opend?

2. apprently freebusy information is only requested for a limited intervall in time ( looks like 7 days to the past (why in the past?) and 6 day to the future. this is far too less because there are quite a few people planning their meetings ahead for weeks. could this be changed?

figured out:

you've got to use add calendar -> from internet and enter the 'WebDAV ICS URÖ' of the calendar from the '3point menu' of calendar in the webinterface

this is kind of inconvenient and inconsitent with email sharing and with the webinterface as well.

btw: as i did not find one, is there an end user's docu somewhere

Outlook must be sending caching creds - I've just tried with Outlook
2013 and no way SOGo lets you do that with a wrong password. It keeps
telling you to go away with a 401 code.

[SOGo] active security issue ? still alaluating sogo

2016-07-25 Thread "sg gs"
hi,

becuse native mapi seems to be not really usable at the moment, i had a look at activesync.

- using outlook2016 (windows10) i created an activesync profile for an existing sogo account without saving the password

- looged in and could see mails and send mails to other users

- logged out

- logged in again misstyping the password - no error, no warning, i could not see new emails but send email in the name of the specified user

- logged out

- logged in and entered another username and no password - no error, no warning, i could not receive emails but send emails in the name of the specified user

it turned out that it is possible to send mail from any user just by specifying the username and not entering any (or a wrong) password.

is there anything i missed in the server settings? what can i do to prevent this security-related behaviour?

Hi,

Sorry but I need explain about how SOGo determine reply address for appointment notification.

Authentification is set with LDAP bindFields = (uid, mail)

Example with these LDAP data :

uid = pdupont

mail = philip.dup...@domain.com

The reply address shown in sent appointment notifications is pdup...@domain.com, which is not exist.

With internal users, this is not a problem, reply are still correctly sent. But people from outside cannot answer.

I think I missed something. Thanks for your help.

Sogo is a fantastic tool if you manage and configure it carefully, I've been using it plugged to another open DNS/LDAP/SAMBA/DHCP/ActivSync software and it works like a charm.
Secure and versatile for mobile and fixed devices ... Microsoft must fear this ! :)

For my companie the minimun 700$ support option is a beat too expensive, but I'm certain that some of us can subscribe for an option without support, and just to access the repo if the cost is cheaper.

So inverse can earn some money too continue develop this tools, and the users have a "not so much" expensive option too contribute.

Hello,

Over the past 10 years, Inverse has been developing SOGo and providing everything (software packages, documentation, etc.) completely free of charge. A massive number of organizations worldwide have successfully deployed SOGo and benefit for free from the continuous enhancements of the software.

After many months of discussion and thinking, we made the decision to close down the public package repositories. From now on, in order to access the production builds of SOGo for various Linux distributions, you will need a proper support contract from Inverse. The options are listed here:

https://sogo.nu/support/index.html#support-plans

Payments can be made by credit card.

We hope that this move will help Inverse to:

	increase its investments in SOGo
accelerate SOGo v3 evolution by adding more features (S/MIME, alternate storage backends, etc.)
expedite bugs fixing and small feature additions
	invest in gravitational projects
extend its support to more Linux distributions
create a VAR channel to resell and participate in providing support

Tying up package repositories to a support agreement is important for us as Inverse strives to offer stellar support and we want to bring more value for the money to each customer. Current organizations that have a support contract with us will automatically get access to the package repositories. Official packages also offer the advantage of being thoroughly tested before they are released.

SOGo will continue to remain entirely Free and Open Source. The source code will always be fully available and we will keep using the current licenses. Nightly builds will also remain available to all, as well as the ZEG configured with the latest software.

Thanks for your support and understanding. Together, we all make SOGo better!

The case with this is that every time you try to update the operating
system with apt-get/aptitude or the package manager that uses the
distribution of each, we will have a new version of SOGo to update and
may not there are changes between the last build and the previous.

I currently use Debian stable (Jessie) for my servers and they have
included SOGo on the repositories, although it seems (if I'm not missing
something) it is not incorporating all packages:

sogo-dbg - Scalable groupware server - debugging symbols
sogo-openchange - Scalable groupware server - OpenChange backend
xul-ext-sogo-connector - transforms Icedove into a full DAV client for

For example, I do not see the package for activesync.

That's sad. As others already mentioned, paying 700 € only to access the
official repository is to much. And the alternative to build the
packages by my own isn't realy great. It was the ease of installing and
updating that makes SOGo so nice for ops.

[SOGo] ldap groups and sogo's treatment - still evaluating sogo

2016-07-19 Thread "sg gs"
hello,

please forgive me if this or an a similar question has been asked before.

at our site we have plenty of groups defined in our ldap server (openldap) and it's possible (SOGoUserSources in conjunction with postfix configuration) to sent mails to all members of any of these groups.

now we are looking for an option to use these ldap groups to define sharing properties for mail-, calendar- and addressbook sharing.

question: is there a way to use groups for defining sharing properties?

we'd like to use attachments (doc, pdf etc.) in our appointments.
Is that possible with SOGo? If not, which workaround would be best

you have the SOGo integrator and connector add-on installed in Thunderbird?
User to invite are your SOGo users?
You have the usersource configured as address book in your sogo.conf?
You have activated the SOGo address book in Thunderbird preferences for
autocompletion?

hello,

when i use thunderbird lightning interfaced using caldav, i have to enter the complete email address of the attendees in an invitation to a meeting. there is a fair risk of mistyping - there is no suggestion list/autocompletition similar to the web interface though i have added the global address list (ldap) and my addressbook to thunderbird which are searchable using thunderbird.

hello,

i guess caldav/carddav/.. suffer from the same issue and i was told this is a weakness, deigned into the rfc. the implementaion is correct with respect to this rfc. as this might be a show stopper at our site (ok, i could teach users. but this is not really an option because users tend to forget - the higher in the hierarchie, the ealier and the higher the risk).

if there is the option to declare an object private/confidential, the meaning of such flags should be respected and this should be done by the server.

may i suggest: whenever an object is requested, check the object for private/confidential flags and modify the object (ical, ics) in the same way the web client does it after the sharing permissions have been merged but before it will be sent to the requester.

yes i know, other systems do not respect these flags as well, but why not have a better system?

MS-Outlook seems to handle that correct client-side. But leaking data

it works for sogo v2 (and for owncloud, etherpad) with my proxy configuration. using v2 i can see plenty of lines matching .*"POST /http-bind/.* while i cannot find any such line when using sogo v3.

tried the latest nightly (3.1.2.20160622-1) but could not observe any difference.

Perhaps the nightlies are better/sufficient already?

copied jquery-ui.js jquery.fileupload.js jquery.iframe-transport.js jquery.js from sogo-v2 to /usr/lib/GNUstep/SOGo/WebServerResources and added

    "jquery/jquery.js",
    "jquery/jquery-ui.js",
    "jquery/jquery.fileupload.js",
    "jquery/jquery.iframe-transport.js",
    "sjsxc/js/lib/jquery.ui.min.js",

just below SOGoUIAdditionalJSFiles, restarted sogo and logged in using google chrome.

aparently all files are loaded (no more warnings/errors - at least in google chrome) but nothing changed (no budy-list) and no http-bind lines in bosh's log. i guess it is not quite sufficient just to add the files (wrong version?). has anybody got an idea?

We're very interested in integrating JSXC, too. I guess it shouldn't be hard to integrate Jquery into 3.1.x as well, possibly using a separate namespace. Or am I missing something?

There was no change to resources in V3.
If it does not work, please open a bug report on http://www.sogo.nu/bugs

hello all,

using sogo v3.1.2 (or 3.1.2.20160619-1): if a resource is invited, it does not accept the invitation as it does in v2.3.12. the resource configuration is the same.

should i change the resource configuration for v3.1.2? if yes, what is the difference? what should i change?

hello again,

in order to evaluate sogo v3.3.12, i created a second sogo instace using the same data (ldap, dovecot and prostgres) as the v2.3.12 instance.

using v3.1.12, i am observing the following behaviour:

1. A creates a meeting and invites B

2. B recieves an email and accepts the meeting

3. A reopens the meeting and can see that B has accepted

4. A clicks 'Edit' and saves the meeting without changing anything

5. A reopens the meeting and B's accepted status has changed to 'not accepted' (?)

6. B did not receive any meeting-related mail and sees his own status a 'not accepted'.

this works different, more useful, in v2.3.12

moreover, if a resource was invited, it does not accept the invitation as it does in v2.3.12.

what can i do to change this? did i miss anything?

best regards, sggs

[SOGo] evaluating sogo - 2. calendar

2016-06-14 Thread "sg gs"
hello,

when i reopen an existing and saved meeting with at least one attendee, navigate to "Invite Attendees" and click on ok (without changing anything), always a warning popup: 'A time conflict exists with one or more attendees. Would you like to keep the current settings anyway?' appears. (seems, the meeting conflicts with itself.)

is there anything i could do about it? did i miss anything?

Re: [SOGo] evaluating sogo - 1. mail

2016-06-14 Thread "sg gs"

thanks for the answer, but there was no popup blocker.

reading dovecot docu ( http://wiki.dovecot.org/SharedMailboxes/Shared ) solved the issue. adding

plugin {
  acl_anyone = allow
}

to 90-acl.conf solved the issue.

gspg, going to have a look at calendar.

Make sure, that in your browser your sogo server has the right to open
pop-ups.
If you use encrypted access to your SOGo server, be sure to allow
https://your.sogo.server to open pop-ups.

Else you will see this strange behaviour, as your browser will prevent
the submission of changes from the privileges pop-up.

[SOGo] evaluating sogo - 1. mail

2016-06-14 Thread "sg gs"
hello,

searching for a replacement for our oracle beehive server, i came around sogo
which is such a candidate.

i downloaded and configured sogo (version 2.3.12 with ldap, dovecot, postfix,
postgres). regarding mail almost everything is working as expected. the
exception is granting access to 'Any Authenticated User'. the configuration box
appears and i can tick any of the check boxes but apparently the settings seem
to be not saved when clicking the update button ( and clicking 'Give Access' in
the warning box ) - when clicking on 'Any Authenticated User' again, all check
boxes are unchecked. i guess my dovecot configuration is incomplete.

i would be thankful for any useful hint.

regards, sggs
