Re: [wdvltalk] Paypal question
At 03:54 PM 11/9/2006, you wrote: How do I get the person to fill in the form and pay without leaving the site and going to Paypal OR how do I get the form to Submit at the same time as the person goes to pay with Paypal? Does this make sense? Hi Riva, I don't believe what your asking ref not leaving the can be done. PayPal is the payment processor thus the transaction must take place on their secure server. If you had it on the client's host, you'd need SSL, merchant account, payment processor, perhaps a gateway etc translation and the hassles and security risks that go w/it. Does your client *really* want to be responsible for holding cc #'s on their site? I know I don't. You might want to check out www.mals-e.com as there is alot of great info there. PayPal's cart is a nightmare to set up, I tried it twice and I'll never use it again unless they change it drastically. Their Buy Now buttons work great but for a cart - you have to customize wayy to many things to have a real cart in my opinion. There's also www.2checkout.com but they're fees are higher and their distribution of funds is in my opinion - only for those who can afford to wait to get their money. Sometimes 2 weeks or a full month depending on the date of the transaction and how long it takes them to verify it. As for the duplicate submit, as I recall you need a special script that will do this. So my suggestion is to hunt down the script (try www.hotscripts.com maybe?) - be it cgi or php and set that up. :: Deb | PBC Web Design :: http://www.PBCWebDesign.com The WDVL Discussion List from WDVL.COM To Join wdvltalk, Send An Email To: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] or use the web interface http://e-newsletters.internet.com/discussionlists.html/ Send Your Posts To: wdvltalk@lists.wdvl.com To change subscription settings, add a password or view the web interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/read/?forum=wdvltalk http://www.wdvl.com ___ You are currently subscribed to wdvltalk as: archive@jab.org To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp. From: "Portman" Hi all, Me - again! My boss wants me to set up different membership levels on her new website. She wants the person to fill in a form, pay through Paypal (for now) and then get redirected to a thank you page. My question is with the form and Paypal. How do I get the person to fill in the form and pay without leaving the site and going to Paypal OR how do I get the form to Submit at the same time as the person goes to pay with Paypal? Does this make sense? Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks, Riva Riva, Go and look on the Paypal site. They have a well developed set of information /instructions /scripts; and basically they want it done their way anyway.Haven't been there for a while (though I have plans to alter what I'm doing - i must !), but the last I got was I think a pdf with a host of info. Re: [wdvltalk] Catch-all mailbox in Exchange 2003
Dunno about catch all mailboxes but for general shared mail, you create a public folder and mail enable it then associate it with that email address. You can set sharing on the folder to let different people read and/or delete mail in it. Now don't ask me *how* you do any of that 'cos I leaves it to the Messaging team but at least you have some more search terms for Technet/Google Bj - Original Message - From: "Ross Clutterbuck" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Thursday, November 09, 2006 11:22 AM Subject: [wdvltalk] Catch-all mailbox in Exchange 2003 Hi list I've had a good Google and to be honest it's mostly Greek to me as I'm very new to Microsoft Exchange (and generally proper client-server networking). Re: [wdvltalk] Weird things happening
Hi Todd, Thanks for the reply. Yes, there are other programs that have disappeared. Companion Link is one of them. My boss eventually downloaded another copy but the shortcuts and the programs under Start -> Programs disappear. I have looked in Windows Explorer to find it, but there is not listing for IE under Programs or Windows. Riva Todd Richards wrote: Hi Riva - If she clicks on a link and it opens in IE, then it didn't remove it from her computer. Are there other things that have disappered as well? Sometimes I have seen end-users accidentally click the wrong buttons, etc. Not saying that is the case, but unless you are there when it happens, it's hard to say. RE: [wdvltalk] Catch-all mailbox in Exchange 2003
Hi Ross - I'm not that familiar with Exchange (I run an Ipswitch Imail server), however I will make one suggestion. DO NOT set up a "catch all" account (commonly referred to a "nobody" alias/account). If you were to ask 100 mail server admins, they would all probably take out a wet noodle and start walking towards you (trust me - been there, done that!). This is a main target of dictionary attacks as spammers try to find valid accounts. We used to do it, but there is absolutely no good reason any more to do that. As for the other questions, unless someone here is experienced with Exchange, you may need to join an Exchange list to really benefit. Or take a look at M$'s KB (http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/support/default.mspx). I have dabbled with Exchange but would have a very difficult time giving you step-by-step instructions. [wdvltalk] Getting XML data from a Web Service
I need to send an XML string and then capture the result from a remote web service. I've been exploring PHP NuSOAP for that. Although there are elaborate articles and tutorials I couldn't find a live example. For instance, given an XML string, how do I actually send it and how do I actually capture the returning data.
