Hi Krishna

Step1 Press control +g and type cell range that you want to format for
exam ple: a1:h29
Step2 go to the ribbon tab by pressing alt +h then use tab key until
you hear styless grouping conditional formatting then press spacebar.
Step3 use down arrow key and select format cells based on rules then
use down arrow key and choose an appropreate option.

Hello sir,

I don’t want to apply filters. The sheet already contains cell highlighted in 
red, green, and orange colour. I need only those cells which are highlighted 
green, so how can I eliminate the other cells which are not used to me.
I know the Keystroke insert plus F to check the font colour in a cell, but I 
was thinking of some other way, so I can directly eliminate the cel Rose which 
are not use to me.

vlookup has four arguments.
1. first argument you have to give which column you have to use for
searching similar value in other database.
2. second argument is the row and column range of the destination data
sheet in excel.
3. third argument is after finding the exact match, what related
record you have to display from that match.
for example, himanshu is the name you have found a match in another
database. then you have to display himanshu's mark in a particular
subject which may be in third position from your name.
4. give false.

 Just to share in continuation in what Nidhi has just shared.

 In a cell type 1 and select the cells by holding the shift key and
 down or right arrow. Then press Alt + e i s and then a dialogue box
 would come and in that step value 1 would appear; if you want the
 common difference as 1, then press the enter key there itself. If you
 want the common difference as 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 just type the
 desired common difference in step value and press the enter key. If
 you have kept the common difference as 3, then the series that you
 would get as 1, 4, 7.. This is an arithmetic series with initial
 value as 1 and with common difference 3. If you wish, you can change
 the initial value as per your desire as well.

still unresolved.
I had asked:
"How to instruct JAWS to read row and column heading while moving
 through all row and columns respectively in a sheet?"

I meant to say that if I am browsing a sheet containing data in
multiple rows and columns, what JAWS setting I need to activate so
that while browsing through any cell in the sheet, it automatically
reads column and row heading along with the value of the particular
cell where the focus is?

E.G., I've a sheet with the value "uncharged interest" in h column,
and in row 55 the heading is "XYZ Pvt. Ltd."
my cursor is in G55, and I moved to H55, it should announce the

I have created a leave register and required a macro coding/formula to get the 
appropriate remark in remark column. My query is as follows:
column ‘a2’ leave credited
column ‘d’ days required
column ‘f’ remark

Result condition:

If days required are  leave credited the remark should be: sanctioned – days 
with pay (leave credited) and – days without pay (days required – leave 
credited)

Hi all,

I have an excel sheet with the details of my contacts from all across the 
country. The sheet has two columns - District and State. The state column is a 
dropdown list and I want to make the District column also a dropdown list. My 
requirement is that when I select one state, the list of districts falling in 
that state only should appear in the dropdown in District column.

Suppose, my states are listed in Az65117 to AZ6550 and in next column all the 
districts of India.
 My state column with the dropdown list is Q and district column is O.
Can you give me the formula with description to achieve this in Excel?

Ensure that the cell coordinates in the formula pasted at the new location 
do not overlap. This error normally occurs when you paste the formula into a 
cell which is also included in the formula's calculation. In other words, if 
you are adding up A 6 to A10 and paste the formula into A10, you are likely 
to get this error.

   Hello Vamshi,
After coping the cell please use paste special command. Then select 
values--Press enter. Done! The actual value will appear in that particular 
cell instead of formula. Try it.

Dear Vikas,
If you want to copy a formula from a cell to a range of cells, do the 
following:
1. Be in the cell, whose formula you want to copy and press control + c.
2. To select the range of cells, where you want to copy, be in the north 
west corner and pressing shift and right arrow or down arrow, go to the 
south east corner and release the keys.
3. do control + v and your job is done.
4. please note that when you copy a formula, the input cells will change. 
For example, if you copy a1+b1 ,which you had defined in c1, when you copy 
from c2 to c10, the input cells will also change as a2+b2 and a10+b10. If 
you want a particular cell address not to change, put $ in the formula. For 
example, if you say $a1 and copy from b1 to n1, the cell address will not 
change, If you put a$1, then, when you copy from c2 to c10, the cell address 
will not change. If you put $a$1, the cell address will never change, where 
ever you copy.

any mastery over excel, I use this application for a very limited purposes like 
preparing the internal assessment for my college students and I find it very 
useful for this purpose. I just wanted to know one very minute clarification, 
that is, how do we restrict the formula results to only two digits after dot. 
Suppose, after some calculations, if the result displayed is, 75.318654, how 
can we restrict to only two digits, that is, 75.32. My sighted friends do this 
just at a click of one mouse command, but when I try to access the same with

The Paste function will paste everything from the
source cell to the destinationn cell including
formulas and formats. Using the Paste Special
function, you can choose only a certain characteristic
from the source cell to the destination cell. For
example, you can use the Paste Special command to
paste only formats, or only formulas while retaining
the original formatting of the destination cell.

For the 60 students, select the entire range of cells
where you want to paste and then do the Paste Special.

As regards the Precision calculation, I will have to
put on my thinking cap and do some investigation.

  number tab by pressing
   control plus tab. in number tab press tab once
  then your cursor goes to
   category list. in category list select number

  decimal places, choose 2

   that spin box and click on ok.your problem will
