I run the site Nutz.Org and have been using the analog weblog parser for a
while now and love it. I went through the archives and saw a brief
discussion which has similar problems that I am having, but no real solution
to it so I figured I would bring it up and see if anyone has come up with
Hi,
This reminded me of an old webmonkey article:
http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/demo/96/35/index4a.html?tw=programming
At the end of page 1 it gets to a demo, which uses javascript to
calculate the browser size, and perl to display the next page based on that.
I'm sure it would be

So, if I understand you right, then your problem is only that a
single logfile would be too large and you would prefer analog reading
in multiple logs?
analog IS allready designed for that, you can use many LOGFILE

Hi,
I have some virtualdomains with separated log files.
I've tried to make diferent config files but what i get is that only the last
OUTFILE indicated is the one that analogs outputs...
Howto make diferent repports for each log files ?
thanks

Once again... ;)
analog only uses the last OUTFILE command it finds.
To produce different reports you have to run analog once for each
report using the respective config files.

Any help would be mucho appreciated. Maybe in the near future the guys who
maintain analog can incorporate pulling in multiple logfiles into a report.
This would remedy my problem with the filesize issues.
Just what version of Analog are you running? Analog has always allowed
you to specify

Ah ok, thanks for clearing that up for me. I got confused with the one run

Assume 640x480 and you won't go far wrong.

What I would like to know is if there is a way in order for Analog to log on
a daily basis with the date of that run, (yes, I know it can), and create
that output file of that date and have an index page created that will show
those new pages.

Is it possible to turn off a subreport which was turned on previously?

I slightly modified the analog source to produce an output that was
semi-seamless with my site design. I use PHP and a MySQL backend so I have
some PHP includes in the output and a custom directory listing which
includes menus for the main site. My setup maybe somewhat what you are
looking for so

Why not just dump the results into their own directory, and turn
directory browsing on for that directory, and don't create an index
page. Not quite as pretty as a custom listing, but it's not very
complicated.

Thanks Steve, that nailed it. Sometimes we miss the obvious.
BTW, Jerry, your REGEXP expression results in a core dump.
I forgot to mention I'm using Analog 4.11 on a Digital UNIX (4.0D).

Hmmm, that shouldn't happen. Works fine on my Linux box though, so I don't
think I'm going to be able to debug it.
