Trying to decide which distribution is a pain. I got the CD's for Red Hat 7.3 but after seeing it was going to take 2 Gb of my 4.3 Gb drive I halted the install. I searched for a smaller distro. I came up with Zipslack which takes about 100 Meg of your drive. This distro is text based

don't even know if ggi works with X windows or not. GGI *only* works with X-windows. This is the only way I'll run Arachne on Linux. I have since your reply installed x-Windows but neither arachne-ggi neither X-Windows seems to work. Arachne-svgalib starts with some default values

Hello list, just a short comment, how i got Arachne working for me on SuSE 7.0. The problem was, that ./install echoed me: "This version of Arachne requires libc-2.1 based system, sorry." But SuSE 7.0 is based on the latest libc... ... so I typed "ldd arachne-svgalib" into my console-window.
