I have both files:
/etc/vga/libvga.config
/etc/vga/libvga.et4000
In libvga.config I have enabled SVGA and NOT the ET4000.
The libvga.et4000 is unchanged.
AFAIK SuSE Linux has some

Slackware 7.0 works without moving SVGAlib, I don't know about earlier (or

The problem was, that ./install echoed me:
"This version of Arachne requires libc-2.1 based system, sorry."
But SuSE 7.0 is based on the latest libc...
... so I typed "ldd arachne-svgalib" into my console-window.

The linux version will not require X-Window (it can display under X
just fine, if requested, though); when Arachne-for-Linux is out, you
can probably give it a try with some 'throwable' distribution like
ZIPLinux, DOSLinux, and whatnot..
