That's a problem. If you have something on 1 and 2 with a modem on 4,
and if PPPDRC.cfg says the modem is on com 2, EPPPD will not try the
address for port 4. I think.
No one has this problem now. They have fixed it with a workaround program
that modifies the bios list or they have moved their

Hi,
I can't get into my provider as the password doesn't work. After the
username input, the password input does not function, the keyboard input
seems to freeze. Then I get garbage on the screen in PPP mode and the

Hi, and thanks to Ricsi
I changed msdos.sys: bootgui=1 = bootgui=0
This did the trick... now I can control the program-flow at starting up
the machine.
BTW: it was not easy to change this 'read only' file.
Norton refused to edit... and PCTOOLS does not function on this machine

Bastiaan,
In order to change a read only file, you have to remove the read only
attribute, thus:
ATTRIB -r msdos.sys
To remove all attributes (read only, system, hidden) you would use:
ATTRIB -r -s -h msdos.sys
To remove all attributes from all files in a directory, you would:
ATTRIB -r -s

Thank you about your suggestions what are the most needed improvements in
next releases.
As usually, the conclusion of all your comments is simply, that I have to
improve and change *everything* ;-)
I was in fact thinking mainly about changes in default configuration, not
changes in code...
The Documentation is not lying ... but there is a bug in the code,
which prevents port autodetection.
Bernie is already searching for it ... but he has very few time.
IMO the documentation *is* lying if the program isn't able to autodetect
where the mouse is (on com1/2). I can't get

Just thinking on ways to improve Arachne :
* Removing the hardware system specific portion of Arachne.cfg and
putting it into (say) system.cfg
Then the profiles will be more portable on different machines
with Arachne installed. The wizard structure would also
