this seems to be a bug in the Admin Tool. We had the same problem, but
with Admin Tool 7.1p3 you can put long qualification strings (2000
bytes) into the field.

From my experience, the trial license, if properly installed, will stop this
message from appearing in Developer. I do believe you will not be able to
install other components until this is properly in place.
