Conny/Joe,
Thanks very much for your suggestions and instructions - I've
finally got the view form working as needed. It was exacly as Conny
explained - I included Next-ID-Commit: T in ar.conf and the problem
was solved!.
Just one more question Joe, you wrote that

Hi Listers,
Apologies for not following up with the mail, just got too busy in resolving
this issue. The issue was with using a precreated tablespace and probably
insufficient space on the server. I was installing ARS 7.5 and mid tier on
the same host. The server had about 7.5 GB, which I thought

All,
ARInisde is very quickly coming to completion with it's first open source

for large ITSM installs), fixed a bug in RC2 with qualification parsing, and

Hi Richard
Have you tried increasing the Java heap size for Developer Studio?
Go to the devstudio.ini file in the install directory (something like
C:\Program Files\BMC Software\ARSystem\DeveloperStudio\devstudio.ini) and
increase the max memory allocated.
-vmargs

David,
You need to increase the Heap size in the ini file by increasing the maximum
memory.. have you done that?
You may also want to turn on Java's incremental garbage collection - I
personally have not tried turning that on but that does help to free up
unused portions of memory used by java.
Victor,
This article might help you and your DBA to implement the change.. I would
suggest backing up the database before you do it although it is not necessary
since it doesn't really alter the database or its table but just the
collation.. Do let me know if it helps.
Thanks! Where did you find information on the parameters and settings?

Hi Richard
I have not found any documentation relating to this, but just poked around
and tries changing settings. I think the Decompression error is still
memory-related. See if you can increase the heap size some more and try
again. If you increase it too much, Dev Studio will eventually
Just wanted to send a tickler for this post since I posted it on a Friday

Can you access the JSP engines configuration page (in your case Tomcat)? And

If not you will need to add it there.
If it is already added, make sure that the user that runs your IIS engine

Dear List,
I have a display-only control panel form. I selected a view, and copied it to
a new view, then removed the fields that I didn't want from the new view. But
when I display the new view, in either the User tool or Mid-tier, the fields
are still there. If I look at the Fields in view
Are you displaying the right view in the User Tool or the Mid-Tier? Check
your User Tool 'Options' to make sure you are opening the right view. Do not
misspell the view name or it will open the Default view.
Also make sure you are opening the right view in the mid-tier.. How are you
doing that?
Joe,
Thanks for your suggestion.
I am launching the view from a button that calls an Active Link, and in that
Active Link I am picking the view name from the menu, so I don't think I am
mis-spelling it. Also, the fact that when I change the location of one of the
view's fields, I see the
Dwayne,
I've had something similar happen and the only way I resolved it was
adding the field again in the admin tool, saving it, and then removing
it, and saving it again...

I understand - I was just cross checking..
I have solved similar problems like this (not exactly the same problem) by
redoing stuff that may force a definition recache..
So since you are saying you did remove the fields from the view, try putting
them all back, save the form, recache both the

Hi Conny,
An alternative solution is to create a stored function, that does the same
thing functionally as the stored procedure, and then call the stored function
from a SQL set fields action. This has worked well for me many times
