How did you verify that 1433 is really listening?
I was able to install a similar setup without any major problems using Win
2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 R2.

We have disabled the local firewall.

You can tar and copy, but there are some things in /etc/ that you need to
get as well (not sure of the layout on AIX):
/etc/rpc
/etc/arsystem/`hostname`
On the target system, you need to have the Oracle client, JDK/JRE, and other
supporting components in place.

Do not forget the /etc/arsystem/*-files and the startup-files for
arsystem, and any other local stuff you have that relates to the AR
Server.
You will probably need to get a new server license key in order to get it
