To your point... I turn off all emails from BMC Communities however I
would likely add a "stream" for ARSlist that does email me (each
post/reply) and update my email rules to put it in my ARSlist bucket like I
have been doing for the last +10 years. My ARSlist flow would basically
stay the same.
Why not migrate? Wait now, before you get that look in your eyes, think
about it -
I realize that the community has been around for a long time and there are
a lot of people that feel like family, but with the future of the list in
question, the uncertainly of autonomy - all good things
I think an app similar to devrant with built in search, an ability to upload
files and an accompanying website will work well. Unfortunately, this will
require considerable time, expertise and resources.
Thanks,

To that point, why not a forum based approach? I use the forum for my BMW
called Bimmerpost way more than any other collaboration tool.

Joe et al,
First and foremost: BMC is our friend. It is their software we are experts
in, and yes there are heated discussions at times about the actions or
direction of BMC, but in the end, relative to the flexibility and power of a
set of functionality that has evolved and kept current with
My personal opinion of Communities (and opinions will vary) is that it is
has some very good info in it -- but more often than not when I search, the
results are *mostly* useless. There's a lot of chaff to winnow through
before you can get to the good grain.
And it could just be my bad luck
Do you know if there is any initiative on BMC's part to improve their search?
I get better results by going to Google and searching their stuff externally
than I do from their internal search.
As a quick example, let's say I want to find out why Smart IT is missing the
ability cancel a
I think that as long as the ARSList is allowed to not have a specific
"Application" and you can ask your question about any area, the way it is now,
it will be ok!
You know... no one saying... You should go ask that question is XXX group... or
even some moderator saying MOVED THIS TO YYY
Just did a few moments ago from my personal email..

I think the app is a great idea "if it works". I have not heard of Jive so
since it does not currently work as you stated, can't quite attempt to try
it.
Apps can be designed like email clients to download and cache data, and
offline interaction with the data which can be synced when back
For me, it looks revolves around the end user experience. It doesn't
matter what the format or hosting system is, what matters is ease of use
and positive experience with that usage.
The ARSlist has delivered both in spades. No clunky, over developed Web
page that makes me sign in every 5
Hi Team,
I need to rename the OOB Asset Roles (Approved by, Created by, Managed by,
Used by, Supported by, Owned by).
1.Kindly confirm whether it is Customization or just configuration.
2. Kindly tell which are all the forms involved in renaming the oob asset
roles.
Thanks in Advance.

Hi,
First of all there is an APP, Jive. It has not worked 100% for a week or so
after they introduced SSO, but this should be fixed soon enough I think.
Secondly BMC Communities works pretty much as ARSList, even though it has less
bad taste jokes ;-) In other words the bulk of what happens is
And that is my point about an app. I think if BMC built a mobile communities
app and had that available to the community, there might have been a lot
more hits than just the high teens.. Not everyone hitting the article from
the app might have actually read the whole article, but at least there
