What do you want to do exactly?
Many corporations that use Exchange are also using MS Active Directory.
If you set up the ARDBC/AREA plugins you can authenticate and pull
information back from there.
It's not advisable however to let the system do an automatic match on
name to find the email
Apologies if you already know this...but ...if you are using ITSM the HD Agents
can manually send emails from the Incident itself. This way the email comes
from the system.
Naturally you have to address how to deal with if the user replies.

If you have the CMDB you also have a license for the Atrium Integration Engine.
There are connectors for this for both SQL and Oracle and they can connect to
remote databases to pull data as you suggest.
You may need to purchase the connector - I do not recall.

I have to agree on this - don't do it.
A while back we had a customer with AR 4.x clients connecting to a 6.x
server - a few workstations got missed in an upgrade. One API call had
changed on the backend. Whenever a user did a certain specific search
the entire server went down immediately.

We are using Business Objects XI with ARS 7.1/MT 7.1 on Solaris. We're
running those on separate boxes and the BOXI server on a windows boxes.
All connections are secure and run through port 9443. Everything

custom WAR file at least once in the process - otherwise we're just
using the standard java version from the compatibility
file - this

Server-Name: server001
Server-Name: server002
