Ps Vita or 3DS We have a whole 12 page thread about accessible psp games, and ps vita is backwards compatible with psp and ps1 games as long as you get them digitally. In terms of accessibility for totally blind people, I'm gonna put the 3ds slightly above the vita because the 3ds curser clicks when you move it on the main menu, and the game makes a sound when your curser is above it, but they both got a lot of games a blindy can play. On the cita I have street fighter x tekken, mortal kombat, odinsphere, atari 50th anniversary collection, playstation allstars battle royale, dead or alive 5 plus, blazblue continuum shift 2 and chrono phantasma extend, muramasa rebirth, phantom breaker battle ground, and dive kick.On the 3ds I have dead or alive dimensions, tekken 3d prime, street fighter 4, super smash bros, rhythm heaven megamix, code of princess, wario ware gold, and my old collection of ds games.The bottom line is, you can use them both without sighted assistance, but you might need help if you want to get stuff from the store. If you have some vision, the vita does have some accessibility features like large print and inverted colors if you're colorblind. Ps Vita or 3DS As a person who has played on both a 3DS and Vita, I personally recommend the 3DS, as it has different audio tones that can be memorized for navigation around the home screen.However, it depends on what games you want to play.If you are looking for a more mature rated game like GTA for example, then you're better going for a vita.But if you're looking for more casual or Mario games, then the 3DS is the console to pick. Re: ps vita On the Vita, when you have downloaded a PSN game, the icon is placed randomly on the home screen. When using the d pad on the home screen, the cursor moves like a mouse, so the icons needs to be dragged together to be made accessible. Otherwise you need to know how many times to press the arrow key to move to the next icon, because the cursor also moves between the icons like a mouse on the computer. Trueth be told if I didn't have sighted help at all getting a Vita would have been a very bad idea. That's sad, because I think the Vita is quite good otherwise. And it could have been even better, because from what I saw on the Internet, Sony abbandonned support for the console pretty early, in 2014 I believe. Handheld consoles: PS Vita or Nintendo? Hi.I haven't followed the news regarding those two handheld consoles the last year. So I'm making this topic to see if any of you knows anything.PS Vita: Has there been released any updates which makes the system easier to use? Last time I heard about it, which was long time ago, you need sighted help to drag the icons of the downloaded games so they can be accessed using the directional buttons. Moving between the icons on the home screen makes no sounds either. So this was impossible to download a game and start playing it without any sighted help. Anyone who knows if this has changed? Im glad you find my feedback helpful.I forgot to mention that sighted people can create folders and drag games and icons into the folders.the use of the arrow keys on the main screen needs to be activated somewhere in the settings. Please note that no sound is played when arrowing around on the main screen, because youre moving the mouse cursor and not a cursor like in a menu in games, where it jumps to the next item when pressing the down arrow.Something which is pretty nice though, is that the main screen have some music, so you know when youre on the main screen. The device have other sounds as well, but I didnt got used to them. The issue of course being that not enough blind people own a Vita to make it cost effective to manufacture sadly but its a thought all the same. The issue is the icons can be everywhere on the screen, meaning that the device randomly puts the icons where they fits. all icons can be moved around like on tablets and phones. The only icon which stays where it is, is the unlock switch. Hi.I dont have a Vita, but borrowed one from a friend a while ago.If youre going to stick with games on a media, the cards or whatever they comes on, there arent any issues because you can set up the machine to automatically start the game when its inserted.However, if you wanna download games from PSN, youll need sighted assistance. You can easily download the games to the machine and install them using the playstation website, but the trouble comes when you need to find the games, and if you wanna sort them into folders.You can arrow around the start screen, but the bad thing is, the cursor works like a mouse, so you can freely move around the whole screen, and move between the icons. This makes it impossible for us to know when the cursor is on an icon, unless you can get a sighted person to arrange the icons from the top of the screen and in rows.I was forced to give up on the Vita, because I dont have any sighted assistance, and I wanna download games from PSN.The Vita is an awesome device though. Awesome, awesome audio, and I like the buttons.However, you have to get used to turn on and off the device. There is a switch on the touch screen you need to unlock the device with, just like an iPhone. But I found the switch difficult to find, but something we can get used to for sure.I hope you find my experiences useful, and good luck with the device. I look forward to hear your experiences. We talked about lots of random things, and suddenly he mentioned a Psp vita he have, which he wont use. I asked him if I could see it, and then if I could borrow it for a few days to see if its something for me.The Vita is pretty awesome! my expirience with the ps vita. Hello folks. today i want to talk about a gaming console witch was thought inaccessible but can be used with a bit of help.I thought about the vita when i was in hospital on the start of 2013. I got bored and decidet, that i need some entertainment to keep myself alive. I thought that a portable gameconsole would be nice. I checkt the webb and found the ps vita. I heared that it contains a touch screen and i didnt know how to use it. I bought it from amazon, and with the help of a view friends set the console up. At first, you couldnt operate the system with buttons, but after a software update, this could be enabled in the settings.2. The games.Starting games is pritty ease on the vita. The games come on small cards that you put in a slot ontop of the vita. The system makes a litle sound to indicate, that a game has been put in. After that you press x, a view times, till a litle tshime comes up. Than hit x a view more times, and the game will start.I cant use the vita much for other things, but i think, that you can learn it.
