Excellent info! Obrigada. Manuel Azevedo was my grandfather's name. He was
born and raised on São Jorge Island. Although there are no hard and fast rules
regarding names--how prominent is the name 'Azevedo' among Portuguese Jews?
Manuel, Do you know Stan Hordes, New Mexico
Hi: You sparked my curiosity. My husband's AZEVEDO line is from Rosais, Sao
Jorge, Azores.
Do you know which village your Manuel Azevedo was from?

Repost for Guida:
Fajã dos Cubres is a cliff and may be one of the most beautiful and exotic

Please let me know about this next year. This year I was not able to attend

read that the second son would have the

FWIW, cubres are the yellow flowers that also lent the island of
Flores its name (NOT the blue hydrangeas that many assume,
erroneously). According to my distant cousin in Calheta, cubres are
unfortunately endangered these days by all the invasive introduced
plants in the Azores. Katharine.
