Thanks for the recommendation, I booked him some time ago for May 9th, the
day our ship is in Sao Miguel. He's going to take us to Ponta Garca. I'm
very excited as I've never been to the Azores before.

Thanks much, Eric. I know the 1870 federal census lists my g'g'grandmother
as 18, and her Providence marriage record, but the family bible kept by her
daughter, my g'grandmother, lists the 1854 date I have been searching, and
has so far been accurate as to all other dates. Moreover, her death

I just ordered the family finder test. Am I able to join more than one

only line I am researching. Would I get better results if I also have my
father do a test?

Yes, you can join more than one DNA Project. However, some projects accept
Family Finder and some are just strictly Y-DNA. So you will have to ask.

If you are interested in your father's Azorean line then it would be better
to have him take the Family Finder test. I know that there are members of
the Azores DNA group that waited too long to test their parents.

Yes, you can join another project. I had a relative tested about 5 or 6

Ralph S,
I'm not David, but I'm one of the admins on the DNA project.
Since your last name is Sellars, you can take a Y-DNA test for your Sellars
line. It will trace your father, your grandfather Sellars, your
great-grandfather Sellars, his father and his father and so on. You'll get
a focus
What is your grandmothers name? and her parents names etc There are a few
on the group that have ancestors from Lagoa, who maybe able to get you
further back.

Hi Cheri, I had my brother do the YDNA test and then upgraded it once (I
think to YDNA37 or 67?) If I were interested in chosing one of the choices

a brand new test? Sorry...I know...I'm one of those last minute shoppers
