Antonia Pereira is also his daughter, so you may want to look for her

I agree with what Shirley wrote, but I would lean more towards 70 years of
age. I cannot find where it says who he was married to as it seems to go
directly into his will. There is something about leaving something
Thank you Angela! Bernardino's parents are my GG grandparents.

I believe George was reffering to the last entry on the right, where it
starts with "Bernardino".

One of the witnesses is from Achada Grande and down below, very difficult
to read, I think it says, referring the Quaresma, 'e o contrhente na
paroquia de lugar de NS Annunciam, Achada Grande..." I have never seen them
anywhere, so maybe they are Castillian.

The wife of José Duque Caetano in RR I (think) is shown as Rosa de Bettencourt
or Felícia Rosa de Araújo or Felícia Rosa… She married Manuel de Pimentel
Resendes on the 6th September 1759… so José Duque Caetano passed away before
that… Have you anything on this Manuel Pimentel Resendes?
Linda
Thank you.

John,
Thank you for searching.
I have very little information on Velma. Have no idea of who her relatives
are/were.I think Cotta was her maiden name. She was married & then
divorced in 1928. Then she married Joe Hughes in 1933. They
separated/divorced in 1937-1939?According to the
Eric,
Thank you so much!!! This is the first clue as to why she was living with
the Lopes!! In my bones I thought she had to be a relative for them to
take her and her first son in. Their house is a small one.
Thank you for the names also. Will try searching "Belmira" and see what
comes
Thanks—It does help.

Correct. At the 4th to distant level you have 3% or less of the DNA of your
common ancestor. No guarantee that ALL 4th cousins inherited that SAME 3%.
So siblings could have inherited a different 3% from that particular Manuel
and Maria.
Another reason why Dave asked for people to DNA test - to
I can add to the 2nd page and to what Bill Seider wrote and as I read

Hi,
I transferred my Ancestry DNA test to FTDNA. I also sent a request to join
your project, I'd love to match with someone in the group. I was born in
Terceira as were the majority of my ancestors with the exception of my
paternal grandfathers line which came from Graciosa.
I'm wondering
Thanks Shirley... but I was referring to the last entry on the right... (as

Nivea,
You tested your autosomal DNA with AncestryDNA. They only test for
autosomal and they use the Illumina v.3 chip.
Family Tree DNA (FTDNA) also uses the Illumina v.3 chip for their autosomal
DNA. They call that product Family Finder.
Since it's the same chip, the raw data is the same.
With a name like Manuel da Luz, try looking in Fenais da Luz. They may have
lived in Capellas but born or baptised elsewhere.
I am trying to follow your line but having difficulty. Can you lay it out
in ancestor format?
