[Bes-admins] How to reset device password, or get pictures off without password

2010-07-23 Thread Peterson David
I have a user that had a Curve on our BES, and rented a 8830 to go to Europe. The 8830 is currently on our BES. He's back, but for some reason, his curve is not accepting the device password he said he had. Since it's not currently associated with our BES, I can't simply reset it. Is there any

[Bes-admins] Curve 8530 Stuck in Perpetual Boot Cycle

2010-07-23 Thread Eggan, Mark
Hey All, So this is a weird one, I might have to call for help as a few of us are simply stuck on stupid on this one. New BES user, new phone (Curve 8530 - Verizon). When we tried to activate him the first time (email and password set in Enterprise Activation), we had a message come up

I would back up the 8830 using your BES WebDesktop, then use the BBSAK (BB Swiss Army Knife) to wipe the Curve, then restore the 8830's backup onto it and activate it. I have done this successfully going upwards in version (i.e. Curve to Bold) many times. In theory it should work going down

2010-07-23 Thread Scott Greene
We had this happen recently on quite a few new Curves from Sprint and Verizon. It turned out to be an issue with the installed OS on the phone. Once we upgraded the OS on the phone, the issue went away on that particular phone. Everything was fine on the swap. Only when we did the BES

I didn't think this would work. I didn't try it on his, but just tried it on my Curve 2, and I can't get it to do a backup without entering the device password. -Original Message- From: bes-admins-boun...@dataoutages.com [mailto:bes-admins-boun...@dataoutages.com] On Behalf Of Darhl

I didn't read the original suggestion correctly, but this is right. Would be much simpler if it was on a media card. I didn't think there were many options, but was hoping there might be a way to get it on the same BES as before without the password. -Original Message- From:

You're right, I read it wrong, I thought he was trying to move the pics from the 8830 to the 83xx. Darhl Thomason | SysAdmin | Business Technology Papa Murphy's Int'l. | d 360-449-4044 | c 360-607-5617 | www.papamurphys.com -Original Message- From: bes-admins-boun...@dataoutages.com
