The FCC won't need to enforce anything. This will all be driven by the
HOA's who already have people periodically reviewing your property for
violations.

I prefer Heliax myself...the superflex type is great for a lot of

Gayle I have nothing but lmr400 ultra flex. It handles 1.5 kw+ which is
great when you upgrade your class and antenna and rig with an AMP. My first
vert was with lmr400 ultra flex and that cable is still in use after 10 yrs.

Chris,
I just sent it to the much smaller Sam Houston Amateur Radio Klub group in
Cleveland. They seem to have a thirst for 25-G right now.

So bottom line. yes! For a little bit more in financial expense on the
LMR400 cable from RG8x you will noticeably benefit in increased receiving
ability as well as transmiting from the upgrade. thanks.

I use LMR400 Ultraflex for all permanent installs (i.e., not "portable"). My
rationale is, it's a capital expenditure that you only shell out for once, it's
not THAT much more than cheaper options, and I can always repurpose it for just
about any other application (V/U, e.g.) down the road.
I
Spec says .7 db at 30 megs. Not too shabby. Worth it? Heck yes!

Gayle:
The loss of RG213 cable is only about 1 dB (10%)
per 100 ft. at 30 MHz. LMR400 would only be about
1/2 that loss, so I really go with the 213 and wouldn't
worry too much about it.

You will have a good bit less loss with the LMR-400 feedline.

For use in HF at 28.000 Mhz frequency, length 75-100 feet, is LMR400 cable
worth it for better RX/TX attenuation?

Welcome Paul
I also have heard that the 7300 is a great unit for the price. Icom
calls it entry level but I talked to the ARRL lab guys and they said it is a
GAME CHANGER. It is easy to use and for an SDR it leaves little if anything
to be desired. The filters are fantastic. That is from
