Looking at my times from about 10 months ago, its a big difference...

I would definitely recommend practicing in notepad too.

As you figure what you have to do for each device, create separate notepads for
each device. Then you have it all there. I am starting again with my studies
and am working on my speed. I can have HQ done in less than 5 minutes. Then it
is just copy and paste.

Even create a notepad for all of your partitions in CUCM.

To All,

I was hoping for some insight on concrete suggestions to get faster.
I didn’t get hung up on any one task, I seemed to keep moving forward and tried
to type as fast as I could, using CLI shortcuts, etc.
I used the device-based methodology and I feel pretty confident of my technical
knowledge.
Yet I didn’t even get to many tasks at all, I would have needed another 2-3
hours to complete all tasks.
I hear of candidates completing all tasks in 6-7 hours, which means I would
need to become twice as fast as my last attempt.
It almost sounds insurmountable. Do I need to take typing classes?
Any recommendations that don’t break the NDA would be greatly appreciated.

I currently get around the by blowing away the CTI ports in CUE, re-adding

Subject: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] BACD Question OWLE Lab 4 Section 9.3.

Guys,

Have a question regarding the bacd and hoping to get an answer that might help
me understand the question better.

We can implement bacd using any of the below three Scenarios.

Scenario 1--Using the Cisco CME AA and ACD groups with Cisco Unity
Express only as a voice mail destination

Scenario 2--Using the Cisco Unity Express as the main AA entry point
and Cisco CME AA as a “sub-menu” within that AA

Scenario 3--Using the Cisco CME AA as the main AA entry point and the
Cisco Unity Express AA to provide flexible “announcements” as
part of the AA

And, my question is which scenario best suits the requirement of the OWLE Lab 4
Section 9.3.

Thanks in advance for you inputs.

Simah.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] To: field on display

2012-07-29 Thread chase mergenthal

So I have a RP that is 900.1408XXX that is set to PreDot / Prefix +
That is pointing to a RL that has 2 RG's, they both are set to PreDot for the
called number and they prefix site specific access codes.
When calls go to the SiteB RG the To: field on the phone shows the
+1408XXX as anticipated.
However when calls go to the SiteC RG the To: field on the phone shows
9001408XXX ?!

When I change the order of the RG's in the RL, is seems the issue stays with
SiteC...

Any ideas?

Anybody an idea where to look ?

When I dial directly from the deskphone associated with the remote destination

the calling number

I am sure the ANI needs to be sent for MVA calls - I can't seem to find the

Hey guys,

Has anyone discovered what goes wrong with the interfaces after applying MLP
LFI?
I am running the same problem on my lab3.

When I configure MLP LFI on both sides, the virtual interface stays up/down:

Virtual-Access110.10.111.2 YES TFTP updown

I have already rebooted the router several times, but it does not come up.
The auto qos is applied on both sides:

HQ:

interface Serial0/0/1:0.1 point-to-point
 bandwidth 384
 ip ospf mtu-ignore
 snmp trap link-status
 frame-relay interface-dlci 201 ppp Virtual-Template200
  class AutoQoS-FR-Se0/0/1:0-201
  auto qos voip trust fr-atm

 ip rsvp bandwidth 112

BR1:
interface Serial0/0/1:0.1 point-to-point
 bandwidth 384
 ip ospf mtu-ignore
 snmp trap link-status
 frame-relay interface-dlci 101 ppp Virtual-Template200
  class AutoQoS-FR-Se0/0/1:0-101

  auto qos voip trust fr-atm
 ip rsvp bandwidth 112

Has anyone run into this issue?

Thank you,

Bruno

Yeah I've had this problem before. First off, you have to configure it on both
sides for it to come back up. It usually comes right back up once you run auto

should fix it.

In proctorlabs, I haven't had to reboot the routers in this situation. In
GNS3, I have to reboot them every single time.

How did you interpret this? I want to see if people came up with other
solutions..

Create a RP with the pattern set to !, put it in a new Partition called
PT-ONE-RP.
Create a CSS with PT-ONE-RP in it.
Create several translation patterns that have access to the CSS that
PT-ONE-RP is in.

UCCX @ Proctor Labs

All,

I consistently have an issue with UCCX on ProctorLabs racks: regardless of what
I do, I can NEVER get the pull-down for the Agent Extension to show in the UCM
End User pages. Everything else seems correct: the data sync is good, the
jtapi and rmjtapi users are good, the cti ports are good, the CCX engine in
good (yes I restarted), the CTI service has been restarted on the pub and sub,
I can create an application and a trigger and the trigger creates fine, I can
even call the trigger and get to the script. I just can’t assign my users
their agent dn, so I can’t assign resources, have agents login, etc. I’m hope
I’m missing something fundamental. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Note: I am using the IPExpert Five-Lab handbook configurations.

Hi Chase,

I am having the exact same issue. I had 2 hops configured for my Multicast
MOH-Server and CUCM MoH was playing mixed with Flash Moh.

I disabled pim dense-mode on the serial interface to fixed it.

Right now, MoH is working fine for PSTN Calls. But is not working for
internal calls. Did you figure this out?

Makesure that your flash is having the moh file with correct name used. Apply
the command ccm-manager multicast-moh
In case still not working, we need to know who is the holdee ? Is it pstn or ip
phone ? What the codec used.

Post the output of show call active voice brief during hold.

Makesure that your flash is having the moh file with correct name used. Apply
the command ccm-manager multicast-moh
In case still not working, we need to know who is the holdee ? Is it pstn or ip
phone ? What the codec used.
Post the output of show call active voice brief during hold.

Hi Chase,

since i'm using the standard one it is subscribed by default
(Enterprise Service).

You can also verify it in my Config snipped near the bottom:

phoneService
  type=2 category=0

  nameVoicemail/name

  urlApplication:Cisco/Voicemail/url

  vendor/vendor

  version/version

  /phoneService

So subscription seems ok.

I also don't know if all SIP-only phones encounter something
similar.

Maybe someone has an 99xx available to check?

Regards,

Steven

 Hello Group,

i'm playing arounf with CUE and SIP phones.

I tried to get the messages-button working for an
9971.

Already tried to set Service Provision to
extermal and set it to the

 same URL sccp phones use.

Strange thing is all my sccp phones working fine
and i can also manually

dial my CTI RP to get to the VM.

However like i said before, the message button
doesn't do anything.

Any hints appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hello All,

Basically if what you want to accomplish is restrict a user to have access to
the Directories button and keep the order of the of the Missed Calls/Received
Calls etc; I think that we do not even have to delete the URLs from the phone
services.

What I think would work, is to use on this particular phone where you want to
restrict the directories the service provisioning setting as External URL.
If you do this, the IP Phone will try to use the URL configured under
Enterprise parameters, by default: http://x.x.x.x:8080/ccmcip/xmldirectory.jsp.
If we leave this URL configured
and set the service provisioning to external, the directories will still show
up. So in order to get the No service configured message, just delete the
Directories URL from enterprise parameters (leave it blank).

By default, the other IP Phones, will still continue using Service Provisioning
Internal which means they will get the URLs from their configuration file.

So, summary:

1. Set service provisioning to External URL to the phone where you want to
restrict Directories access.
2. Leave the directories URL from enterprise parameter blank.
3. Reset the phone.

Hi,

Let's try to understand this sql command to find a way to change order.

We should run below to restore Corporate Directory.
run sql insert into telecasterservice
(pkid,Name,NameASCII,Description,URLTemplate,tkPhoneService,EnterpriseSubscription,Priority)
 values('7eca2cf1-0c8d-4df4-a807-124b18fe89a4','Corporate Directory','Corporate
Directory','Corporate
Directory','Application:Cisco/CorporateDirectory',1,'t',6)

Does anybody know about these parameters?
tkPhoneService default 1
Prioritydefault 6

Hi Experts,

Does anybody know how to make sure that the directories button display the
services in the correct order after you have disabled Enterprise Subscription
by deleting and adding the services back?

Thanks in advance.

No, but you can configure on the phone(s) with external services provisioned a
Messages URL of http://publisherhostname:8080/ccmcip/getmessagesmenu.jsp. If
you test this out though you'll see that the messages button acts a little
differently than the Application:Cisco/Voicemail.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] UCCX issue

2012-03-08 Thread chase mergenthal

I'm working on UCCX in proctor labs, and am not able to assign IPCC extensions
to end users.

Looking at the Enterprise Parameters, it seems CUCM is not aware that UCCX is
installed.

However, I can create App's, and dial the triggers just fine..

I've done, a data resync, bounced CTI, rebooted and recreating the rmcm user to
no avail... any ideas?

Try run auto-qos voip fr-atm command for just creating the Autoqos
configuration. Then save the output into a notepad , reboot the two routers
without saving the config.

After powering on again the routers , put the map-class , class-map . policy
etc manually without the auto-qos voip fr-atm command.

This problem happened for me once and searched for the solution and it worked
without stopping the connection between the two sites.

Regards.

Hi,

I am using the Call Redirect step; if the destination pattern comprises
digits, I have no problem redirecting the call.
If the destination pattern starts with *, e.g., *5001, I hear, like 3 short
beeps, and the redirect fails.

Can UCCX dial *XXX numbers?

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Ebook Lab 4: Campus QoS Task 3.1 - 25% bandwidth cap per queue

2012-02-14 Thread chase mergenthal

When you configure campus QoS, by using Auto QoS; an input queue will be
created. This will prevent from the phone/trusted device from potentially
abusing the EF queue when the traffic crosses the WAN. (Assuming you are not
using NBAR to reclassify traffic sent across the WAN)

From the QoS SRND:
Shaped or Shared bandwidth weights can be assigned to a queue via the
srr-queue bandwidth shape and srr-queue bandwidth share
interface commands. Shaped mode weights override shared mode weights
and use an inverse ratio (1/weight) to determine the shaping bandwidth
for the queue. Furthermore, if shaped weights are set to 0, then the
queue is operating in shared mode. For example, the following interface
command srr-queue bandwidth shape 3 0 0 0 would shape Q1 to 1/3 of the
available bandwidth and set all other queues to operate in sharing mode.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3750/software/release/12.2_50_se/configuration/guide/swqos.html#wp1202482
If you configure a weight of 0, the corresponding queue operates in shared
mode. The weight specified with the srr-queue bandwidth shape command is
ignored, and the weights specified with the srr-queue bandwidth share
interface configuration command for a queue come into effect. When
configuring queues in the same queue-set for both shaping and sharing,
make sure that you configure the lowest number queue for shaping.

Subject: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Ebook Lab 4: Campus QoS Task 3.1 - 25% bandwidth
cap per queue

Task 3.1
configure campus qos
* egress media in the priority queue
* egress signal in the second queue
* do not permit any queue to exceed 25% of the total allowable bandwidth

Solution:

int f1/0/2

 auto qos voip cisco-phone
!--- adjust auto qos
int f1/02
 srr-queue bandw shape 4 4 4 4
 priority-queue out
 service-policy input XXX

Don't quite understand the solution here:

From Vik's explanation

I put an asterisks for the rate limiting requirement of 25% for each queue
because priority
queue command will allow Q1 to use 100% of the queue up to the service-policy
applied there.

However, the configuration of “4 4 4 4” means each queue is configured to not
exceed 1/4 or 25% of the bandwidth.

This para confuses me re queue and bandwidth:the PQ will get 100% of the queue,
but I thought that the srr shape won't be able to limit Q1, since PQ trumps
eveything else.

Furthermore the service-policy is an input policy, what does this have to do
with egress queueing?

Hi Folks,

I am new to proctorlabs, today scheduled my first session, configured my
2811 Home Router and started with the basic connectivity configurations. After
testing connectivity within the pod, i did the same from my HomeRouter and
Laptop.

The weird thing is that from my HomeRouter i can ping every interface within
the pod, but from my Laptop i issued Pings to different IP addresses and had 25
to 50% successfull replies. I tried with online support and they told me it was
not the POD.

Attached to this mail is my Router config.

Any advice?

Sorry, I should be more clear.
When you log into the web interface, you will see Lab configs.
So, which lab configs did you load?
After you get the configs loaded, you should be able to enter the MAC of your

When I place calls from Site A to Site B, with the following config, I get a
not enough bandwidth message, no mater what I have set for bandwidth in IOS.

When I delete the MRGL's and MRG's, the call works, and I see the correct RSVP

find out the dead 7961 has a bad display also. Does anyone know if a 7940/60
displays are compatible? They are really cheap on ebay while the 7941’s are
still going for 50.00. Thanks,Mike

How about a prefix to any zone?

I'm just wondering the gatekeeper seeing a prefix it has no gatekeeper to route
to and then the gw associated to it.
