Does anyone know the make and model of the cockpit opening portlights on a Landfall 38? I inherited one which has been sealed up. It has not leaked so I have not messed with it. But now that I have my hatches in working order, it is time to remove the goop and get this port in working order

Stus-List 3M tape

I am looking for a source of the 3M tape vhb4991 to redo some windows. Secondly I would like some ideas on removing the old windows I did 7 years ago with sikkens 295. Along with removing the windows I will need to clean up the sikkens from the fiberglas to accept the 3M tape. Thanks Fred

Jason, You should be able to brace yourself against the prop to loosen the nut. The prop will definitely need a puller to come off. Buy or borrow a good one. It takes a tremendous amount of pressure to dislodge the prop. The application of a bit of heat to the prop hub may help, but go

Don't take the nut all the way off. This may be the only thing stopping the prop from shooting 40 feet when it finally comes loose. Or take the easy way out and ask around the yard. Instead of buying a gear puller, I paid the local machinist $5 (!) to do it. The advice he gave me about leaving

The C 43 had balsa core in vertical cockpit surfaces? That seems really surprising. There's no core in the LF38 cockpit wall to the left of the companionway, at least from what I observed removing an old Datamarine display. It's about 1/4" of fiberglass. If the 43 had coring in vertical cockpit

You're right to worry, but with a good plan and advice the project is very doable. The heater exhaust cap thru-deck hole has been a persistent source of leaks on our boat, and the prior owner who installed it made some poor choices (and some good ones - I don't blame him for the job not lasting

I think you'll be fine with moving the boat. The trouble with rudders is that you need to thoroughly dry them out and that is the biggest challenge. With the season approaching quick I would wait till the end of the season. Depending on how you choose to dry it, it may take quite a bit of time.
