I stand corrected. Actually located a nice singing male TOWNSEND'S WARBLER
just now (~10am, Sat., 17 Jun.'23) in roughly the same spot I thought I'd
heard a Black-throated Gray earlier. This guy is giving two songs, the
typical quick, buzzy, high pitched song as well as a slower, clearer version
I was so caught up with this Black Tern green scene, after reviewing
photos, they were actually gleaning the small moths and other bugs in the
alfalfa fields with their bills, not their claws.

On the morning 10/12 7 of us from Boulder saw 50 Greater Prairie Chickens
and the Tri-colored Heron at Walden.
My last CO Tri-colored in 2006(?) was at Lower Latham and later saw the

The scoters reported at Colorado River State Park in Fruita on Wed., Nov.
5, turned out to be 2 Surf Scoters. Folks went out the next day and saw
the Surf Scoters up close and took good photos.
We only saw them on the far shore and they never came close.

I apologize. I incorrectly reported a Plumbeous Vireo on January 2nd. It is
actually a Townsend's Solitaire. The Solitaire was singing a very short 2-3
note song that made me think it was the Plumbeous. I went back to Ammons
Hall today and the Solitaire was sitting on the 2nd floor window
I actually saw the Bald Eagle at Roses Pond (not Rice's Pond) at Chico Basin on
Tuesday, 22 Oct.. The bird was apparently seen again today by Gloria Nikolai
on Rose's pond.

Hi cobirders. The Coopers Hawk I reported a few days ago had
several white spots on its back and was smaller than it
looked at close range and its tip of the tail only had a small amount
of white.
At 9AM a Coopers hawk did come and swooped around the house sparrow
