Hi Damon/Florin,
Just to be 100% sure, i re-installed the RC2 and

Unless Mandrake patched Gabber to cause this behavior,
it's a Gabber bug and should be reported to its

If you select Bootloader Advanced options during install and select
"Clean /tmp at boot", it will be deselected if you later enter the MCC
Boot Configuration and look again. If you select it there, commit your

I agree with grousse actually (I've also asked for
this before), that the sound thing in summary be
clickable.
It looks your code does that, and runs draksound if
you click it. I'm not sure what the isa_sound_card
stuff does. Just running draksound is really cool
there though.

If your tree is in, say, /cooker, just go to /cooker/misc and type ./MakeCD
to get a usage message. For example,
MakeCD -t /cooker -a /home/myid
will build (default) 650MB CDs in /home/myid.

I have some problem starting crossover office 1.2.0 or installing it in latest Mandrake cooker (11/09/2002). In prevision version Mandrake 9.0 beta 1 all works great.
There are no real arror, /opt/cxoffice/bin/wineloader freeze without errors.
Is a my problem o an incompatibility?

I had similar problems with an ECS K7S6A (SiS) motherboard.
I found I could detect the problem early by attempting an FTP install.
If the FTP install fails on DNS lookup of the supplied host name (because
networking does not come up), chances are it won't come up after a full
install either.

Could someone from Mandrake share with us what is the exact procedure to
generate the ISOs from the Cooker tree (do you have a script to create
the betas/RCs?)
I have the full Cooker tree locally and I want to create my own CDs form
it.
Many thanks in advance,

Please excuse me if I still ask for information, but still Mandrake don't
have support for quota on ext2/ext3 filesystems. I would appreciate if
someone over there could remember that Linux is multiuser and any stupid
server uses quota. Is someone taking care of this point? Will it be fixed

Hi,
Gabber should be appending to it's archive, not overwriting what ever is
there. RC2 Gabber keeps only the archive of the most recent chat,
instead of accumulating them by adding to the file as in 8.2 and 8.1
etc.
thanks!

I noticed that the 'devfsd' rpm requires the 'dynamic' rpm to be
installed. Dynamic generates KDE and Gnome desktop entries, which are
remarkably pointless on a machine that does not have KDE or Gnome
installed. This is, of course, a very minor problem, but a nuisance
