When I bootup the computer, I get this:
CDROM_PC_INTR: The drive appears confused ireason = 0x1
This has happened on all of the 2.2.X kernels that I have put on. Any

I had the same conversation with Lexmark about a year ago. However, I
recall reading a post in this list re: someone who had hacked a driver.
My solution was to give the printer to my kids (win-machine) and buy a Canon
BJC-610 - that I found was compatible via the supported hardware page.
