Heimir,
You may want to consider using this list as your first line of defense. This
is the best place to learn of new issues which are brought to everyone's
attention by folks who are in the trenches. Keep in mind not everyone here
has the latest version and not everyone is using iMail. I would
Thank you for the update.
It concern me that I can't find the email notifying your customer about
this bug.
Could you tell me when it was sent so I can find it and make sure I am
not holding this type of emails.
They are critical to us so I will put some effort in making sure I get them.

Hi Barry, and thanks for the explanation. The only thing that concerns me
is that we renewed our Declude service agreement this spring, but have never
been able to download an upgrade to Declude due to the bug(s). So I'm just
a little concerned about how long before we have a stable 2.x version -

Are you saying that the SendName pluggable architecture is broken? Has
Ipswitch been made
Declude will be backwards compatible.

Is it safe to assume that the re-written Declude will continue to work
with Imail 7.15? I long ago stopped upgrading Imail and have recently
switched to Exchange with Imail/Declude as a front-end filter. I
planned to stay in this configuration until Declude releases a version

Thanks for the call, Barry.
I look forward to the results of your team's efforts in the upcoming

Hi Barry,
Wha
We are also runing about 5k per day but we do not have any issues at all
with declude and have not restarted our server, (except for MS updates), for
any imail/declude related issues.
We are runnning IMail 8.20 and Declude 2.0.5.51
We also gateway all our mail and IMail sends all outgoing messages
The back down your imail version until this issue is fixed. That would be
the best way to support your customers. Then when the solution is available
upgrade to what ever your IMail support agreement allows.

Thank you for you posts.
We understand your frustration; here are the facts so there is no confusion.
1. This is NOT a bug in Declude. Ipswitch made changes to their IMail
architecture, making it incompatible with Declude and this requires a
fundamental re-write of Declude not a 10 minute fix.

Hi Barry,
What about all of the issues there have been with Declude 2.0x with IMail
8.0x/8.1x?
We stayed with IMail 8.05 and avoided all of the pain and frustration that
came with the 8.1x bugs, but have not been comfortable with upgrading to
Declude 2.0x because of the numerous issues that were
Yup, I am frustrated.
I spent hours working on this problem over the weekend.
We went down multiple times and got tons of complaints from clients.
I guess I missed the email from Declude to all clients notifying us
about this known error.
I went back and looked but couldnt find it.

Heimir,
I understand everyone's level of frustration - I think THAT is actually a
constructive suggestion. We can't do anything about how long this take, but
at least people would feel treated fairly. I think your email deserves
serious consideration.

Do we need Imail 8.2?
Its besides the point.
We do pay for service agreements and we do expect and demand that the
software we pay for.
When an error that shuts down the mail server is found it must be fixed
ASAP.
waiting for over 2.5 months so far is unacceptable.
I assume that Declude wil
I upgraded before there was a "Known" problem.
However since I only delivery around 5K /msgs Day, I don't
appear to have that much of an issue. So i just restart the
services once a week.

I've running Imail 8.15 and the Declude 1.82 here and everything is running
fine.
Do you realy need Imail 8.2?
Declude as a multi-threaded service sound very promising.

Just an FYI, I won't be renewing our service contract.
(Declude is probably saying good riddance now :P)
We have been waiting for MONTHS for a fix to this issue
and I was told it would take two weeks tops. When Scott
was the owner the only real issue I had with Declude was

It does appear that some people have been missing the updates regarding the
Declude/IMail 8.2 situation.
Declude has been working on a new version in order to deal with the changes
brought about with the introduction if IMail 8.2. This has involved some
major changes to the application and to quot
