the chmod -r did not fix the issue for me (original reporter). In

my initial tests show that disbling the wacom plugin fixes the issue
with hotkeys, volume keys, and even brightness keys (previously even the
restart didn't fix brightness keys for me even though it fixed hotkeys
and volume keys).

As of today's firefox 46 release, the scrollbar thumb is not being
drawn, just see a thin grey bar on the right side of the window.
Probably related to switchover to gtk3. Gtk theme is the ubuntu-gnome

Perhaps this is somehow related to the convertible lid hinge.
Ordinarily when the laptop is in "tablet" mode (hinge open > 180
degrees), the keyboard and touchpad are disabled. Even more reliably
than using an external device, switching into and then back out of
tablet mode by opening/closing the

With the disco upgrade to firefox 66, I can't open new tabs, and the
browser doesn't cleanly exit on closing windows. Disabling all
extensions does not fix, downgrading to firefox 65 does. Safe mode also
appears to fix, but weird that disabling extensions doesn't?
