Same problem with ASUS S406 (no graphic card, CPU i5-8250U)
The most awkward thing is sometimes it is working, sometimes it's not. I
can't figure out why. When not working, even a restart does not re-
enable it but xrandr can enable mirroring laptop display.

I had that problem on one of my computers where I installed the CUDA
development system. The CUDA installs its own libraries and the
libvdpau_nvidia.so library was not getting used!
I used the following command to remove the offensive vdpau library:
sudo rm /usr/lib/libvdpau.so
The issue seems to be fixed after a software update this week

endlessely tries to connect to AIM with no success. Tried to

HOME permission don't matter as lightdm read/write them as root (and
