If a screen of 4 is big enough for you the cheapest way is to just get
an used Nokia770, run Squeezeplay on the server and present its
interface via VNC or RDP on the Nokia770. Worked surprisingly good for
me (I will probably switch to a FreeNAS/SlimNAS box soon as server, so
I won't use it

Sounds like bollocks to me. I have listened to plenty of way out ambient

In the end I gave up and returned the Roberts WM201. I was able to get
it work with Windows MediaPlayer 11 as a uPnP client but failed to get
it to reliably use the stream from squeezecenter. Since streaming works

One of my squeezeboxes crashes and restarts whenever I try to connect
it to my wireless network. I get as far as choosing WPA security. Then,
on the next screen where I should enter the WPA password, the squeezebox
freezes and reboots.
It connects fine to a neighbor's unsecured Wifi

I have a similar radio (Reciva-based) and I am pretty sure that
streaming from the SqueezeCenter works less well than it used to
compared to SlimServer.
Did much change in the regular MP3 (Shoutcast style) streaming ability
after version 5?

I know Moose is a fancy slipcover for SC, but my point is that the
minute or two it takes 600 album covers to load in SC takes about 15
seconds or less in Moose. Moose does a far superior job of handling
cover art. If it is drawing on the same db cache file as SC, then

seems to be gone. I can now add tracks to Favorites without it

The Alien BBC option has gone! I was listening to
that didn't work either. It seems that the album reordering occurs once
tracks are *played* from the Favorites page.

I was under the assumption that you don't really require wifi because of
the ethernet port on the squeeze box, and was hoping I could use
ethernet with the controller connecting to the squeezebox.
I have wifi in my house but it is disconnecting a lot and it isn't
inconvenient to hardwire the
Do a factory reset and you'll be able to start over. Unplug the power,
hold down the '+' key on the remote aimed at the SB3 and plug the power
back in. The screen should say 'factory reset'.

I'm running 7.2 on my Mac MINI server (OS 10.4.11) and haven't had any
problems. The BIGGEST advantage I like about 7.x is that I can now sync
multiple players while connected to Pandora or any other web based music
service.
I have an SB3 at my office that streams from the server here at home.

Hi, I already did a factory reset, no go.
I think I have bigger problems, It won't connect to ethernet at all, it
just says unable to connect to your ethernet network.
I tried this via a router and directly out to the internet neither
worked.

I am running SqueezeCenter 7.1.0 on a MacPro running Mac OS X 10.5.4. I
have several SlimDevices players on my wired network: 1 SliMP3, 1
Squeezebox v1, and 2 Squeezebox v2s.
The SliMP3 and the Squeezebox v2s function properly. However, my
Squeezebox v1 does not.

the newest squeezebox and SoftSqueeze. When I unsync SoftSqueeze the

Did either of you upgrade from 6 up to 7? Was the actual process of
upgrading problematical? Did you simply install 'over' the earlier
version? You need to reinstall

Any plugins that you are using in 6 will probably need to be upgraded,
plus they go into a different folder. SlimServer had its own folder
within PREFERENCES in your user LIBRARY folder, but SqueezeCenter files
live in the APPLICATION SUPPORT folder within LIBRARY.

If you connected DIRECTLY to the ethernet port of your server you need
to use a crossover cable and, most likely, issue a static IP to both
the server and the player.

Setup: 2 SB3s, 1 duet. SuSE 10.2 Server running SqueezeCenter 7.1
Just set up my Squeezecenter to use MusicIp and now when I do a music
scan - either complete or refresh - it only shows track 1 from each
album. Any help will be much appreciated.
