[slim] Info Browser - Not working on Several Squeezeboxes
I have tested on a controller a radio and a boom. On the Controller and Radio the info browser and extras folder is not even showing. On the Boom the extras folder is showing, but info browser is sometimes not showing. If it is showing it is showing as empty. I have tested both towards mysqueezebox.com and using the Squeezebox Server. Ron Olsen;657614 Wrote: I'm glad you are not having problems with embedded art. No need to change anything if it's working as is. However, other users have had problems traceable to embedded art, and may benefit by removing it. I run on VortexBox 1.10, and use its built-in software to mirror my FLAC library to mp3. I do NOT embed art in the FLAC files, and use a cover.jpg fike in each album directory. I have the mp3 mirror embed the cover.jpg in each mp3 file, however. I then add these mp3s to my iTunes library (running on a Mac). So while there is no need to have cover art embedded in files managed by SBS, there certainly is reason to embed art in files managed by iTunes. +1, I've removed embedded art from my FLACs, but still use embedded art in my mirror mp3 files for the iphone/ipods. p.s. mnyb, I never actually had a single problem with embedded art in my FLACs in any version of SbS I've used, including 7.6.1. -- garym System 1: Vortexbox Appliance (1.10) SbS 7.6.1 Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio) System 2: Win7(64) laptop SbS 7.6.1 TouchBenchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio and laptop) Retired: SB3, Duet Receiver Controlled at both locations with: iPhone (iPeng), iPad (iPengHD SqueezePad), CONTROLLER, or SqueezePlay 7.6 on Win7(64) laptop Ripping (FLAC) - dbpoweramp, Additional Tagging - mp3tag garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=90111 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Info Browser - Not working on Several Squeezeboxes
I've seen this problem with 7.6 7.7 not sure about 7.5.* - I have two plugins which are in Extras menu - when they are not installed infobrowser doesn't appear so I there is a bug. You should open a bug report. On 7.7 there is also an Image Viewer plugin in Extras. ImageViewer menu appeared in 7.7RC1 Touch Extras but not in later versions of 7.7. It seems to be a separate bug but it could be related. This issue is being checked out. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=90361 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I agree that there must be some specific embedded art that is causing the problem, and not embedding per se. However, even with debug logging turned on, it seems difficult to figure out which specific files are causing problems. Hence the suggestion to remove all embedded art. Re: [slim] Music folders
How are the files stored on your hard disk? A fairly standard way of doing it is to use an organized folder structure, such as \artist\album\tracks. From what you describe, it sounds as if you don't have that kind of folder structure. If that is the case, my advice is to organize the artists, albums, and tracks accordingly. It seems that your _tags_ may be well-organized, which is why they appear okay if you browse by artist, etc in IE. You can continue browsing that way on your SB, instead of using Music Folders. If your tags are good then you also may be able to use a tagging program to help organize the tracks into the correct folders. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=90368 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Updating music files over the network
Perhaps I am confused? What has Win7? The SheevaPlug or another PC, a DeskTop? Anyways... If the sheevaplug has UBUNTU or soem other flavour of LINUX, then you will need SAMBA so that the music folder can be shared over the LAN. You can then 'map the folder' as a Drive on the windows machine. Once that is done, use whatever Sync software is you pleasure. I use SyncToy to back up to an occasionally attached USB drive on the XP Pro PC from my music folder on a UBUNTU 11.04 shuttle PC. Cheers!
