I just use mplayer set to dumpstream to a file. Unfortunately there's no way to tell mplayer to quit after X number of minutes, so I wrote a kill script. I just popped them both into cron and it 'just works'. A crap solution I know, but it's sufficient for my needs. #record car-talk 57 8

This was one feature I miss from my old Sony CD jukeboxes. There are a few easy work-arounds, but I hope for a better solution from Slim in the future. My work-around: I assign an additional genre, this song sucks, to the tracks I never want to hear. (To set up multiple genres you have to set a

Are you really hearing a gap or a click? They are different things. I get perfect gapless playback on all my tracks, a mixture of flac and vorbis - when both are transcoded and streamed as wav. If I stream as flac and decode on the player I sometimes get a problem where the last 0.5 secs or so is
