the Transporter spec that I can see significantly improving the sound

However there is one niggle that I can't seem to fix despite scouring
the threads here for a solution.
When running Apple Lossless files wirelessly into the SB3 the first
fraction of a second is lost before the DAC
Is there a way of just writing a simple batch file using the command
line that would start a playlist in shuffle mode, etc?

Sorry, not getting that at all.
As an example, the font or title format settings do what you say
but the now playing information is just a drop-down list where only
one can be selected.
Pressing the now playing button on the remote still toggles through
all 12 options!

is supposed to work really well.

I concur with the suggestion to buy a headphone amp from Headroom. I
have their Total Bithead portable amp, and connected to my SB3, it
sounds fabulous. Way better than the headphone jacks on the SB3, and
way better than even the headphone output on my Yamaha receiver.

When bitrate limiting is engaged
The silence sample played intitially (and when there's no music to
play) is 320. So they player will see that initially and then see the
reduced rate once the music starts.

Ah it's under Shares - Services. There's a Remove button next to
Slimserver.
Then reinstall it the same way you installed it originally (probably
System - Update).

About 6 months later I noticed, on the picture on the web site, that
the white SB3 comes with a white remote. Sure enough, I looked in the
box, there it was unused. I'd never noticed it was white. Never took it
out of the box.
