Currently the wasapi version only runs in exclusive mode. You can use the direct sound version to share your audio device. I'm planning to add an option to allow the use of shared mode, but that won't happen until late fall. I don't do much coding in the summer. Ralphy. -- ralphy

May I suggest that you add --enable-debug-output=yes to the portaudio configure line as well. Again, you'll need to do a make realclean; make It might help, although I've found the information less helpful for alsa. -- ralphy
