I've been using 7.6 for day to day squeezeslave listening/testing since July and have never seen that problem. Just tried playing David's Picks - Radio Paradise and it's streaming fine current running 7.6 r31504. No errors in the server log. A couple things. Squeezeslave is not supported on

I have no idea why the newer kernel is scratchy, I've never had a report of that before. I seriously doubt it has anything to do with squeezeslave. I'd look at what's different between the two kernel configurations, and search for reports of problems with audio and the new kernel version.

I've got a problem! I'm using squeezeslave on OS X with squeezeserver 7.5.1. When playing Napster or Last.fm, the playlist will not advance, it just sticks at the end of the track. I can get to the next track by pressing advance in the web controller. It will stick on every track in the playlist.

Tried the without-oss option this time, it finds the devices but still a nogo. What i noticed too is that it's not working on the USB device, but also not on the devices of my sound blaster except for the pcm playback device, this one works. Not sure if it helps pinpointing the error. also saw
