Hi K-J,

Can you provide a specific broken link to a chapter. I have just gone
through the wiki edit and cannot find one. With that information I can
fix the problem, if there is one.

ODFAuthors is not yet closed and all currently published chapters are
still available, so this person can still get any chapters he/she wants
from there.

[libreoffice-documentation] Missing single chapters in documentation.libreoffice.org

2018-11-06 Thread K-J LibreOffice
Hi all, Olivier,
someone at German community told me that it is not easy for him to get
individual chapters of a guide after leaving ODFAuthors.
Especially for the new Writer documentation [1] it isn't possible to
easily find single chapters. There is a link to wiki missing, like in
Getting Started Books [2]:

"Download Individual chapters
Please visit this wiki page to download individual chapters."

Hi Cathy,

I have just changed the guide status spreadsheet to CC & 10/12/2018 for
chapters 1 & 2.

Maybe Olivier needs to reshare the new group folder for you.

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Icon style, screenshots, and chapters

2018-11-06 Thread Cathy Crumbley

I suggest that we discuss the icon style tomorrow.

I think that the three appendices are a good solution. Fortunately, I
think that changing references to the two new appendices should be
fairly easy.

Changes to chapter structure - yes Indeed I sent an email to the ML with
some details on changes. Should be in your inbox from earlier today.

This inserted two new chapters (Appendices) into the chapter layout and
therefore changed the "Title" in three existing files.

Any thoughts on that? I just did so it can be changed easy enough. I chose
the insertion because versus new files added to the end of the book as I
thought it made more sense as a natural flow for the subject matter, but
yes that will involve clean up of references.. so?

Thanks,

Have there been any changes to the organization/number of chapters or

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Icon style, screenshots, and chapters

2018-11-06 Thread Drew Jensen
Howdy Dan,

Colibre is I believe the default icon set used for MS Windows and as you
and I see Elementary for Linux.

One of the points discussed in the last meeting was on using Windows 10 as
the baseline for screen shots in the 6.2 Calc guide update which is
beginning.

Colibre, here under Ubuntu 18.04 desktop, as I said in the last email, fits
my taste for general use also.

Best wishes,

Drew

Have a look at your user settings in NC in the page "Activity" and set
the actions where you want to be notified. Beware you can be flooded by
mails because it is a global setting for all NC files or activities.

Not that I know of, and not in Plone as well. So my advise is to
communicate in the mailing list your activities as before. You can
however, add a comment to the file in the web interface of NC so it is
possible to leave a comment on who is working on the file.

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] [Update] Changes in Nextcloud structure.

2018-11-06 Thread Dave Barton
I have now copied last few English files over from ODFAuthors to Nextcloud:

Under Contributor Resources:

  * Folder AutoText = 2 files Using AutoText.odt & the associated ".bau"
configuration file.
  * Folder Documentation Team Info = 5 files about Documentation
workflow & using ODFAuthors
Obviously these files require a major revision.
  * odtclean.py - The Python document cleanup script.
Should have a small explanatory doc about what it is for and how to
use it.
ODFAuthors shows a cryptic note "Usage: ./odtclean.py -i -o "
  * template-changer-1.2.7d.oxt - Extension to simplify template merging.
  * I have also added the AltSearch 1.4.2.oxt extension.
This provides a find & replace facility which is more advanced than
the inbuilt option.

Miscellaneous folder added under Archives has 2 zip files:

  * How-tos & Tutorials.zip
  * White Papers.zip

I put them in the Archives, because I wasn't sure if there was a more
appropriate place for them.

The copy of English files from ODFAuthors is now complete.

Regards
Dave

[libreoffice-documentation] Changes and fixes in Nextcloud for ODFAuthors

1. Is it possible to get a "restrictive" admin for the German folder
(not for me but in general)?

2. Is it possible for the German admin to get an info-mail or something
similar for all actions which happened in German folder? You know that
is easier to make chaos in NC than in ODFAuthors.

3. Is it possible in NC to lock a document for a period of time so that
nobody else can work on it? E.g. for working on a local version?
Sometimes you need to download it for working on it because LOOL doesn't
provide all features.

We have been using NC in the last weeks and it proves OK to handle the
job workflow for documentation as a replacement of ODFAuthors Plone
service. We kindly ask the international community to start using
NextCloud@tdf at their earliest convenience. Our plan is to shut down
the Plone service once all communities have migrated.

Kind regards

Hello K-J

I added your @libreoffice.org NC login to the odfauthors group.

Kind regards

Hi Olivier, all,
so it is a final decision for the international docu-team to leave
odfauthors to nextcloud instance? Or are we still in testing mode?

This question is only to tell it to German community if it is the final
decision.
