through the case of the accessory, back to the ground bus, to the

My 70amp Astron has 1/4" lugs and they seem to make a secure connection.
Do to my longer lead length (power supply on floor) I used 8ga wire. This
was difficult to stuff into the K3S sized PowerPole. Even with the shorter
leads that I use on contest expeditions along with a switching power
supply
John and all,
You can splice a short (3 to 4 inches) length of #12 wire to the #8 or
#10 wire and it will not have negligible voltage drop due to the short
length.
Make certain you have a good tight connection at the splice point.

Or use an APP 75A fitting with 8 AWG wire and the APP 75A-30A reducing
adapter
I just reduced the current demand by driving a KPA500 at all times :-)

I have a TGE Boost Regulator* connected to lead-acid batteries
powering my K3. The boost regulator is set for 13.7V which drops
to 13.3V during 100W CW key down. The device is connected to the

I would appreciate it if the transceiver had bolted connections or at least
double up the power poles
What I have done in the past, (with cheaper radios) is to bypass the power
connector, and solder heavy
wires directly to the DC input pads inside the radio. The power supply end has
ring
This is a one foot cable that goes from the 75 A series to the 45 A series.

Thereby voiding any warranty, and with some manufacturers, being refused
for any service
I have never seen the Powerpole adapter but that seems like and elegant
solution. You could even use 6awg wire with that connector if you had a
longer power supply/battery cable.

The Kenwood TS590 runs about a foot of 12 ga connected to the power
supply and then the rest of the power line is double 12 ga wires to the
radio. Could you reverse that and run double wire until right before
the power pole and then a short single wire into the radio? That would
reduce the

Use DATA A mode. Use the procedure in the KX2 manual for setting levels. Use

Hello,
This is my first post. I'm trying to connect an SCS 7400 modem with my KX2.
Got the RMS Express installed, and it's going through the steps without
success. I suspect my KX2 setup is not right. Does anybody here know what
the exact settings for the KX2 are? I don't seam to be able to find

Perhaps, SCS is mainly targeting the marine market.

Yes, lots of ways to skin this
I am contemplating building a 2 meter transverter based on a very low noise
commercial100 MHz crystal oscillator that would result in a IF frequency of 44
MHz. Can the KXV3 et al be coerced into emitting 0 dBm outside the ham bands
and the front panel display the transverter tuned RF frequency?
But since there may be multiple devices connected to the power supply,
and most of them have the V- connected to the case, then in effect there
is a path to the radio through all of these connections.
How can you "Keep all of the transmitter power supply return current

Make sure the internal cables with the little TNC connectors are all
seated properly. A poor shield connection can contribute to birdies.
Oxidation or vibration could create this condition over time.
