Does anyone know if the K3 allows one to record what the receiver is
hearing and then immediately take that recording and transmit it? For
instance when a station who I am in a QSO with wants an audio report,
it would be handy to immediately play back (over the air) what you are

With my K3, I am able to produce an unusual shrill sound under certain
(loud) audio conditions. I was able to stop them by placing my hand on
the top of the K3 case.

I think the most practical unit of measure is the chain. It is

Also this week I ordered parts for a K2. 3 days coast to coast, order
to delivery.
Elecraft is to be commended for their part but so should the US Postal
Service. For
normal service 1st class and Priority Mail beat the pants off the other

Just received mine, comes with plug wired to the k3 and or k2 with the
mounting clip,but includes mic. Configuration blocks, and 5.6k
(green-blue-red) resistor for wiring to the k2.

What was the rationale behind a cutting edge (2007-08) product such as the
Elecraft K3 being supplied with a RS232 interface in stead of a USB port? I

The pins used to hold power poles together are not unique - these types of
pins have many applications and are standard items at most any well
equipped hardware stores. They come in many sizes, so you need to bring some

Well John make it 3.
My $8 solution was a powered Motorola speaker from a hamfest. As shown
on Tom's, N0SS, here:

I did change 2 resistors in the feedback loop to set the gain where I
wanted it.

Another goody for Windows users is the free CutePDF Writer. It installs as a
printer and
anything you can send to a printer gets printed as a PDF file. Been using
it
for years and
has done everything I ever wanted from it.

buying a new power supply, what do
I do now? Except for the birdies on 160M, this is a nice power supply that's
small enough to fit into an attaché case with my K2, KAT100, mic and key.
