My Sony MDR 7506's have a DC resistance of 72 ohms per side. Since the phones are in parallel, the rig will see about 36 ohms. I am not sure how that relates to impedance but it seems in the ballpark. Heating and reactance would increase it some but I don't know by how much. They are

Hi Tom - I don't think you mentioned what bands you intend to use the antenna for. If just 40M, then you may do as well with coax and not need the tuner. If you use it for an all band doublet, the tuner may have difficulty on some bands depending on the impedence and the lenght of the feedline.

. The tuning knob is as good as any and there is more room on the panel. Low phase noise sounds good to me but I am not sure that I ever noticed any problem with my K2 in that respect.
