I remember this by thinking of the X crossing line-to-line.
A Y looks like it's pointing down or heading towards ground;
that's how I remember a Y cap is from line-to-ground.

I just bought an Associated Research Quadchek model 6554SA. It didn't come
with a manual and is missing the cables - I got a real good deal though.
