Hi Andrey There has to be a reasen why the motor overheats. It's either mechanically or electrically. If you can eliminate electrical sources (amp matches motor, weired accelerations or vibrations) then there should be mechanical ones. Did you disassemble the broken motor to find out why it

I originally developed the fpga firmware and hal driver for pluto-p, but I no longer develop them. I don't even have a PC capable of running the development environment for the FPGA anymore. I do not recommend pluto-p for new users to purchase. The Mesa Electronics and Pico Systems FPGA cards

Thanks for the replys Guys! :-) That would explain things. I was using the debug print commands and when moving the Y axis with 3 axis enabled I was getting a different number return on PPDATA then I was with the Z and X which were the same. Z, X returned 64511 and so did Y positive move. Y

Andrey, If you do not have a circuit breaker on the wiring to the servo motor you should put one in. At least on the axis that is burning the motor. You would eliminate the burned motors and still be alerted to the motor heating problem as the circuit breaker would trip. This should allow you

An option is to try a light bulb in series with the motor. Eg With 24 volt motor @ 50 watts, use two 12 volt halogen bulbs. That way if the motor stalls the bulbs light up and reduce the power to it to a 1/4. Under low load, the bulb is a low resistance and all should run well, under high load
