I think it is good way if emc starts the spindle automatically on the start
from line.
By this way we prevent crash if user forget to start the spindle.
Maybe we need to have special variable in INI file?

That won't quite work. Ubuntu, and most Debian-based distributions, no
longer have a multiuser/text mode runlevel by default. Runlevels
I do the similar thing in Debian with Openbox

Hey guys - just thought I'd drop a shameless plug for the Tsugami
Mercury lathe project I'm retrofitting from its original Fanuc 6T(a)
control to EMC2 - if you're interested in some pictures, humor and maybe
even an occasional tidbit of useful info, feel free to drop by:
I just read some of Ted's Tsugami Lathe retrofit blog, and it got me thinking
about the issues surrounding an EMC conversion of a sophisticated, toolchange
machine (in this case a Kitamura MyCenter 0) example:

anyone ever done an EMC conversion on a machine like this? Are the Fanuc
controllers completely inscrutable?
That looks like a simple 3 axis mill

Nice looking machine Chris! Do you have any other pics of it?. The Haas
machine with side tool changers work exactly like you describe, you look at
what pocket# the tool is in that you want and then go to a settings screen
to find the actual tool number

just converted a little VMC a lot like it. Coincidentally it also
originally had a Yasnac control. Mine is mid-80s, this is early-90s
era - not sure what the differences would be.

Wow - a Mori Seiki w/ EMC2 controller, vey nice!
Good eye - I did not mean to hide the logo - paint job isn't going
to be done this year. It is an MV Jr.
Do the older Mori vmcs

This one had two bad servo amps, a bad spindle drive, a ballscrew with
balls missing, a bad motor-to-screw coupling, and a broken lube pump!
I am probably forgetting other things...
But it is a great machine - all linear rails - huge ballscrews with

Good work, Chris. I saw a video from Haas showing off their tool
management software, which allowed for alternate equivalent tools. When
the CNC sensed a worn tool, or a trip point from a table was reached, it
would automatically
