I said the battery icon on desktop I could not click on happened once.
The stuck drag animation for EFM/Desktop has happened many times.

I cannot reproduce either. The battery one I haven't tried, as it only
happened once, and I cannot replicate. The stuck drag/drop animation, I
did try to replicate and could not. That will have to happen as it has
naturally on accident. If its not a bug already fixed in EFL. That is
possible as well. It has been a bit since I have seen that issue. Maybe
pre 1.20.6, not sure.

Different issues, battery gadget on my shelf also showing on Desktop in
random location happened once.

The stuck drag/drop animation from EFM/Desktop has happened numerous
times. I just cannot replicate, nor recall when I last saw it, Seems
like its been a bit, couple months. But I have experienced that many
times in the past. Thus I can recall it and see the imagery in my head.

For sure. I never did it on purpose, it always happened on accident,
miss click, etc.

I guess my insanity in miss clicking must cause some callback to not
fire or something. Or something had an error. If/when it happens again
I will make sure to check any logs, session, e-crashdump, etc.

Yeah I will just have to keep an eye out for it in general. If it
happens again, will do my best to replicate. If I never see it again,
could be some bug fixed :) Even better!

h. now THAT is possible. a window - no. icons on desktop? yes. but you did

it though and don't know how to reproduce it. i have tried...

once ever (which indicates this as rare and hard to make happen)?

Yes, I am aware of the gadgets on desktop. I figured it was
something along those lines, but I could not click on it or anything.
Which if it was a normal gadget on desktop, it would have all the same
function on click, mouse over, etc.

That has only happened once ever, and not sure how.

Sorry I meant the animation was not stuck over a folder on the desktop.
I do have folders on my desktop. But the stuck animation ends up over
nothing. No icons, files or folders. Where ever the EFM window was, and
the folder inside that with the stuck animation. That is where it
remains after closing EFM and the animation keeps going on desktop.

Where I do for sure have folders on the desktop. But the stuck
animation is off on its own, over nothing.

It is related to EFM + Desktop, as it happens when I accidentally drag
or drop or something. It is never intentional, the action that causes
it to get stuck. Thus I cannot replicate easily if at all.

I surely will, but this I am not sure I can replicate via steps. It
tends to happen on accident. Miss click something in a window, ends up
on desktop, maybe some sort of drag operation that launches a new EFM
window. Honestly no clue, I spent like 30 minutes the other day trying
to replicate my insanity that causes such during work flow.

> i have to narrow down what and why and at least for the above unless

Sure, I wish I could provide more concrete information and details. It
could be something I borked in my theme, or in the theme I based mine
off. It could be many things.

Offhand, I would say maybe EDJE is not getting the signal to end the
animation. Why it keeps going on the desktop, could be due to having
folders on the desktop. Even though the stuck animation is not over
anything. Though opening EFM never ends it, so maybe its not EDJE but
something else.

Its all guessing till I can at least provide a screenshot to show, and
ideally steps to replicate. I would not hold your breath. Its been a
bit since I last seen it, and maybe fixed with newer EFL...

that theoretically could happen as objects in shelf are also in the main
compositor canvas. but also... you can put gadgets on the desktop too.

if it was dnd into a window - a dir in there. it isn't possible but if it was a
dir on your desktop, then it would be possible. you did say you never had dirs
on your desktop, right? so taking that out of the picture... it really can't

if you find issues. bring them up - let me know. show me how to reproduce them.

i have to narrow down what and why and at least for the above unless it was
icons on the desktop i can't so how it's even possible, so i'm guessing it was
something else.

I will provide a screenshot at some point for proof. I have seen odd
stuff at times. The other day the battery icon was on my desktop as
well. It was also on the shelf, but somehow it was on desktop. I could
not click on it or anything. After log out and back in, it went away.

The arrow animation stuck on the desktop, I know for a fact I have seen
more than once. I am for sure remembering that very clearly. It maybe
impossible, but it has happened for me. I have a great memory for such
things, photographic... I can see it still Rather than debate, I
will just take a screenshot next time. That cannot be debated.

as i explained. that actually cannot be the case. the animation is rendered in
that window. its in-canvas as part of the efm window and view... and thus if
efm window goes - all objects in it go etc. ... so my guess sis you mis-remember
things.

restarting e restarts efm. its the same thing. you can close and open efm
windows. you can also unload the fileman module and load it. again. the module
just provides the emf window wrapper and desktop icons. the efm core that
handles listing dirs, the icons, their dnd and animation etc. is in e itself.
it is the same thing used for the file selector in e. that's efm. actually 2 efm

I dragged a file over a folder on the desktop and got the animation.
For some reason it was not triggering in EFM itself. Then after I did
that on the desktop. It started working again in EFM.

I never have the animation stuck on desktop icons. It only gets stuck
in EFM, and then when that closes. The animation keeps going on the
desktop. I assume because same process or something not sure.

I do not believe you can restart EFM like you can E. I will try to
restart that process or something next time to see if that fixes.
Restarting E of course does fix, either via menu or log out/in.

I will play around and see if I can get it to get stuck and take a
screenshot, etc.
