No; split phase is not the same as 2-phase.
Split phase is just single-phase 240v with a center-tap. You get 120v

A simple autotransformer can convert 240V single phase into split phase.
Technically the transformer only has to be rated for the maximum difference in
power between the two legs, however even 5kVA autotransformers are relatively
cheap and only weigh about 30 pounds.
Note: an autotransformer ca

I've been shocked (no pun intended) at the low prices used Leaves bring.
Beth, I'm not qualified to appraise your car, and I can't even guess what
you might get for it. However, a look at some Leaves sold recently on Ebay
shows 6 examples from 2011 to 2013 that went for between $3000 and $3700
I agree with David, a non-working 2012 is probably only worth $3,000.
If it requires a HV pack swap ($7,500 for new) that's $10,500, which is
the price of a used 2015/2016 Leaf.
It would probably cost $2,500 to get a surplus leaf battery, plus labor
to swap the modules over, so even a DIY mec

I'm trying to figure out what the constant and 30-second Amp ratings are for
some Leaf Busbars.
The ones I have measure 0.78" wide by 0.08" thick.
That calculates out to 40.25 mm2 (yeah, changing units)
1 awg wire is 42 mm2.
BUT the busbar isn't insulated, and has a much larger surface area, so wo

While it looks like you have done the calculations on voltage drop
and heat production, and the values are acceptable, I'd question the
wisdom of trying to build a 5p pack using the Leaf busbars, mostly
because layering up multiple short busbars to pa
