Marissa,
Loved reading your post. Congratulations on your new
family! I think you will all be very happy once
everyone is settled into their routine. These two
kitties are very lucky to have you.

Hey Jenna Marissa,
I know both of you are considering adopting kitties
with eye issues. I was reading the January 2007 issue
of Best Friends Magazine tonight and there's an
article on pages 36-37 about blind pets and a
subarticle on living with blind pets, in case you are
interested. Here's
I know whoever ends up in your home is going to be very fortunate. I am happy
that you have decided to give your abundant love and care to more furbabies.

Rufus sounds like a CH kitty (Cerebellar Hypoplasia), they are WONDERFUL, so
alive, and *completely* clueless about their disability! If you adopt him,
you should join handicats2 (it's another email group), where they are others

Hey Marissa,
How are you doing today? You sound pretty upbeat in
your posts, so I hope you're feeling good. Slinky is
probably so happy to see you doing well, watching you
from the top of his 'tree in the sky'.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can
through this stuff without you!!! I hope all your
furbabies are doing well!!!

All of those furbabies look so precious!!! I can see
why Patience is popular. She definitely has a
heart-wrenching story to tell, but it's going to have

Hopefully, that will give you

I knew you were taking Slinky for pts yesterday

Hey Marissa,
I am just now catching up on the weekend's emails. I
hope that Slinky is doing better after resting this
weekend. I think you hit the nail on the head when
you said you are doing everything you can. And it's

Hey Marissa,
I feel kind of bad now sending that out. If I had
thought about it, I wouldn't have because stuff like
this does tend to stress out people who are already
stressed about their pet's health. I apologize. I am
not sure what to think about it. I am interested in

Marissa,
Get the numbers out of your head. They won't do you any good at this

necessary to prepare ourselves, but the most important thing I've found
Duh! I feel so stupid not suggesting the Doxy

on 2 rounds of antibiotics; which kinds were they?
Hemobartanella is very hard to diagnose, so even with
a negative hemobart test, I would still definitely go

Hi Marissa,
Did the vet say whether or not Jake had any
reticulocytes present in his blood? This is
important, because it tells you whether or not he is
still making red blood cells or not. I put you and

Thank you Wendy. The vet did say that Jake's anemia is non-regenerative. I am still new to this so I am not hip on the terminology but am learning. Thanks for your prayers! I am taking him in to get another epogen shot today, and hopefully he will respond.
