I wonder whether anyone has found a way to do this:
I have some old Facsimile photocopies of 18th century parts, which are

Hello Listers,
Finale has obviously been evolving since I was last here several years
ago, but I'm still using mainly 2000c with occasional forays into 2004a

Playback on both versions of Finale was working fine until a couple of
days ago and now isn't, and neither of

Maybe stupid and useless answer, have you tried to check that in your
audiocard the MIDI volume has not lowered to 0?
Sometimes it happens to me without any reason (with Finale 2006c for
Windows) that when I open any file and start playback I cannot hear
anything,

Probably -- I couldn't recall just when they introduced that.

I know in the full version of Photoshop you can go to SelectColor
Range, eyedrop colors directly in the image you want to add to the
selection, close the tool, and then delete what's selected. It's
fairly self-explanatory.
Alternatively, ImageAdjustmentsReplace Color will allow you to
Good day:
A friend sent me a Score file in Encore format with the idea I can open this
in Finale. It apparently doesn't work.
Any suggestions? Do I need specific plug-ins?
Thanks kindly,

Just be yourself! Everyone else is taken!
In Finale 2010 they removed the ability to import Encore files
directly (so much for not removing functionality, eh?) In Fin2009 and
previous it is still there, under FileImport.
I think MusicXML might be an option too, but I don't know how that
works. Certainly you need the Encore file to

On Tue,
Ah, I see! Multiple conversions are always a problem. Detail gets
lost, stuff gets corrupted, yada, yada. I would say off the top of my
head that something happened in the conversion process to prevent
Finale from reading it. I would bet that Encore would have trouble
opening it too, but

Hi Kim,
Finale used to open files from very old versions of Encore, but that
functionality has become redundant and was dropped from 2010. Encore
files from more recent versions give the error message that you are
