Nope, Your display variable must be set to the IP or hostname of the X Server, which in this case is the Windows machine. X mangles the client/server difference, since the box displaying teh window is teh Server (And specified via DISPLAY) while the remote system running the apps is the client.

I've made a small patch to if_dc.c / if_dcreg.h / dc.4 to support the 3Com OfficeConnect 10/100. What do I do now? MAINTAINERS didn't seem to have an entry related to NICs and so I'm not sure where to turn. mbr / trhodes / semenu are the 3 most recent modifiers of if_dcreg.h
