Apologies if I should have found the answer already, but it would appear
from both sites that BSD is a marvellous operating system, very secure,
efficient, etc, based on Berkeley Unix, etc. Both are free and maintained by
really skilled technical people, etc, but what is the difference between
I recently installed 5.1 release in a box that has a Creative Labs model #
CT4810 soundcard. I believe this card is sold as Sound Blaster PCI, which
is supported according to the pcm(4) man page. The following line is from
dmesg output:
pci0: multimedia, audio at device 9.0 (no driver attached)
. I tried CUPS it did not work. I also tried LPRng, but had
trouble getting it configured also. I tried to download and compile
Printtool, but that didn't work either. Is there a graphical printer
configuration tool for BSD? Please cc

Does anyone have a good example of a firewall ruleset for a wireless
interface in a laptop, or a pointer to documentation? I want to use

I have just installed Gnome 2.12 on 6.0stable, and then installed
linuxpluginwrapper from the port. After installation I copied

I was trying to install the free bsd to my mac computer its an ibook g3 with a
20gb hard dive i was using the powerpc version and it was working fine then i
got to the part were you have to set up the hard drive i got some kind of err
so i turned off my computer when i turned it back on it
I reinstalled FBSD6.1 release on a machine that had been previously
running 6.0 release. I had been using CUPS 1.1x and printing was working
fine. However, I just reinstalled CUPS 1.2.0 and now printing is broken.
The problem I have is the following:
I can get to the main admin page, but
I recently upgraded to the latest 6-stable, now X won't start. I get the
following error:

Try df -h (h for human readable output I think)Also, in you shell
profile change BLOCKSIZE= to k for kilobytes, M for Megabytes to suit
you needs
