Re: [Audyssey] more on the saved game bug

2009-06-14 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi,
Yeah, something is up, and I am looking into it. Hopefully I'll have it
fixed sometime soon.

shaun everiss wrote:

Hi.
as an experiment I tried loading the game while in the actual game a saved game
slot that was empty.
This was inside the game not in the menu, it was unavalible, however all sounds
of everything went away, no weapon keys worked till I pushed in the number 1
for pistol then the w key worked.
Although the torch burned items did not work, ie I heard no noise neither did
statues and other game elements work.
I don't think its just uninstalling the game, something else is up.

Hi Shaun,
Can you be more specific about the save game bug you are experiencing? I
save and load games all the time here with no issues. Next time you
encounter that bug please write down the steps you took prier to the bug
occuring. Better yet send me a copy of the game you saved to my gmail
address. You can find the save games in one of the following locations.

Windows XP
c:\Documents And Settings\Your User Name\Application Data\USA Games
Interactive\Tomb Hunter Mysteries Of the Ancients\0.10.0.0

Windows Vista/Windows 7
c:\Users\Your User Name\Application Data\USA Games Interactive\Tomb
Hunter Mysteries Of the Ancients\0.10.0.0

Obviously, Your User Name means the user name you use to login to your
computer. My user name is Thomas so instead of Your User Name I would
type Thomas in the path above.
As far as potions go there are plenty of them in the game. They are just
randomly placed is all. You might end up with 0 on a level or you could
end up with 10 of them. It all just depends on how many the game
generates per game.

shaun everiss wrote:

the following mota bugs exist.
1. after saving around 5 tines the game will crash, and exit.
save games will not load after a new session is closed.
if you for example save a game then quit to the main menu then it loads fine.
exit the program get ack in, and try to load the game from the menu it loads
but then says avalible, slots with othing in them say ofcause not avalible.
I have noticed to that potions are not in level1, the game usually generates at
least 1 potion but this time I had no potion in the game at all.
good intro theme though.
The bug where the crouch sound kept playing when crouched when pushing alt is

Hi Bryan,
Weird. It works absolutely fine here. Both on my laptop and desktop.
I've not been able to reproduce this bug you guys are talking about.
It almost sounds like when it tries to read the file it gets say 80% or
90% loaded and then crashes for some reason. Since it crashed it doesn't
exit the menu.
If you guys could write down a complete description of the bug and send
me a copy of the *.sav files that are causing the problem I'd like to
look into this bug further.

Re: [Audyssey] mota bugs

2009-06-14 Thread shaun everiss
tom I have done the following.
save a game.
quit the current game session.
at this point if I load that game again then it works.
now however I now exit the program.
on restarting the new program, if I then first create a new game then load a
saved game from the game itself, then it will load.
it will load the game from the menu to as long as I don't quit the program.
One thing that may help is that every other slot which should load nothing,
will load as if you started a new game, after that every slot will load as if
you have a new game except for the saved game unless that was a new game.
I probably need to check other states but that is the general outline of the
bug.
Another thing I have noticed is when using say the dagger or sword you can only
swing it 5 times after which the game has a 3 second gap betwene swings, and
swinging whilst crouching is impossible, then again you get 5 quick swings of
sword or dagger before the game does this.

At 02:01 a.m. 15/06/2009, you wrote:

Obviously, Your User Name means the user name you use to login to your
computer. My user name is Thomas so instead of Your User Name I would type
Thomas in the path above.
As far as potions go there are plenty of them in the game. They are just
randomly placed is all. You might end up with 0 on a level or you could end up
with 10 of them. It all just depends on how many the game generates per game.

the following mota bugs exist.
1. after saving around 5 tines the game will crash, and exit.
save games will not load after a new session is closed.
if you for example save a game then quit to the main menu then it loads fine.
exit the program get ack in, and try to load the game from the menu it loads
but then says avalible, slots with othing in them say ofcause not avalible.
I have noticed to that potions are not in level1, the game usually generates
at least 1 potion but this time I had no potion in the game at all.
good intro theme though.
The bug where the crouch sound kept playing when crouched when pushing alt is
fixed though.

Hi all,
Bryan is right. I tested his theory myself and as soon as I copied the
contents of the 0.10.0.0 folder to an earlier version such as 0.9.0 the
game would crash when saving and loading games as described. If you are
having problems crashing when restoring saved games do the following.

1. Open your application Data directory. For Windows XP users this is
c:\Documents And Settings\User Name\Application Data.
For Windows Vista and Windows 7 users this
c:Users\User Name\Application Data.
Open the USA Games Interactive directory, and open the Tomb Hunter
Mysteries of the Ancients program data directory. Now, delete all the
contents in that directory. Restart the game and everything should work
fine.

[Audyssey] more on the saved game bug

2009-06-14 Thread shaun everiss
Hi.
as an experiment I tried loading the game while in the actual game a saved game
slot that was empty.

Hi all,

Quote
Another thing I have noticed is when using say the dagger or sword you
can only swing
it 5 times after which the game has a 3 second gap betwene swings, and
swinging whilst
crouching is impossible, then again you get 5 quick swings of sword or
dagger before

the game does this.
End quote

That is not a bug. The reason you are experiencing this issue is simply
because Angela is running out of strength. Every time you use the sword,
dagger, etc you use up some of Angela's strength. When it reaches 0 you
have to rest a couple of seconds for her strength to return. If you use
the g key you can check how much strength Angela has available to climb
ropes, use the sword, use the dagger, bla.

Re: [Audyssey] mota bugs

2009-06-14 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi Shaun,
I have been testing MOTA with three different operating systems on two
different computers.
The first system is a custom built desktop with a 2.8 GHZ pentium
processor, 1 GB of ram, and a multiboot with Windows XP SP3 and the
Windows 7 beta.
The second system is a Compaq notebook with a 3.6 GHZ Pentium processor,
1 GB of RAM, and Windows Vista Home Basic.
The game seams to run just fine in all of the cases above except for
when your Application Data directory contains old files. I usually clean
m8ine out of rtesting purposes, and that is probably why I didn't notice
the bug. Thanks to the tip from Bryan I've managed to reproduce the bug,
but only when the Application Data directory is full of out dated files.
Otherwise the game runs smoothly here.

Hello, I tried using firefox, but I can only use firefox with nvda since
Hal doesnt work very well with it, at least not the version I have. I do
not have an invite for webvisum so I am unable to use tha tplugin. If you
would be willing to send me an invite or know someone who could I would be
very grateful.

Thanks,
Greetings Anouk,

Hello, i tried to play this text based game located at
www.lostpower.com. It ofren requires captcha codes and although there is
an audio version that audio doesnt seem to work here with media player
11. The game seems interesting though so I wonder if someone else could
try?

Thanks,
Greetings, Anouk,
