Re: [Audyssey] BPP Flyin on schedule
The quickest and most likely thing to change and fix is to see if hitting the letter q restores your sounds. if that accidently got checked either in the menus or by accidently pressing it, your sounds will stop. Pressing it again acts like a toggle and you should be back in business. If that doesn't work, you'll have to get down and dirty with the fs2004 volume controls and reset them to where you want them. - Original Message - From: "mike maslo" To: "Gamers Discussion list" Sent: Sunday, August 02, 2009 1:29 AM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] BPP Flyin on schedule IT IS IN THE SETTINGS MENU OF OPTIONS. [Audyssey] a Giganticbug in alien outback!
Hi all I found a giant bug in alien outback. If you saved a game by pressing q and at a later stage you press escape, that saved game is erased. I want to play the bonus levels. If you select start level from the main menu, you CAN't play the bonus level. It only allows you to pick a level from level 1 to level6. This is what happens: at the start of wave3 level1 I press q and my game is saved. So now I load that GAME from THE MAIN MENU. IN WAVE 4 IT HAPPENS THAT A SHIP LANDED, SO NOW I CANNOT PLAY THE BONUS GAME BECAUSE A SHIP HAS LANDED. NOW I pressed escape and I tried loading my game I saved on wave3 but now I hear an invalid selection sound if I press enter on load game. This is definitely a giant bug. Does alien outback store a saved game on my hard drive the same as g m a games does? If so, I can easily back up that saved game and use it when I need it. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Re: [Audyssey] a Giganticbug in alien outback!
This bug is really gigantic! You know what? IF YOU DIE IN A GAME AND YOU TRY TO load a saved game it does not work. I saved a game on level1 wave3 and I died in wave4. And I was back in the main menu and I tried loading my game but I heard a sound telling me I cannot load a saved game. This is really a very nasty bug. And I found another bug. I start all over from level1 and I had no landers on all 5 waves and I was taken straight to level2 without a bonus game This is a nasty bug! -Original Message- From: gamers-boun...@audyssey.org [mailto:gamers-boun...@audyssey.org]on Behalf Of Nicol Sent: Sunday, August 02, 2009 10:27 AM To: gamers Subject: [Audyssey] a Giganticbug in alien outback! Re: [Audyssey] a Giganticbug in alien outback!
Make certain you have the latest version of Alien Outback. It has been updated a number of times since its original release. I have no problem saving games. If you choose a level to start from, you don't get to go onto the mother ship level. It states that clearly in the manual. Re: [Audyssey] old dos games under windows?
Hi Josh, No, the old PCS games are not available for people with today's computers. You would need a windows 98 operating system, and a hardware based synthesizer like deck talk or double talk to get them to work. This is the system they were designed for. As I don't wish to take messages about the dos game not running I do not plan on selling them or putting them up for free. - Original Message - From: "Josh" To: "gamers list" Sent: Sunday, August 02, 2009 12:37 AM Subject: [Audyssey] old dos games under windows? Re: [Audyssey] old dos games under windows?
hi, actually it's not exactly that. first of all, they don't work on certain computers. that is correct. once my asttempt at playing the demo of shoot on someone's desktop with xp, nvda and the command prompt yielded a slow game. it took like 15 seconds after you hit enter to actually get the result, but it's not the case everywhere. I had no problems playing with xp and NVDA, or vista with NVDA but the pc speaker beeps were not quite working. that seemd to effect only vista another of my friends fixed the problem he had by lowering the priority of the games and imho if someone wants these games I don't see what is a problem with at least trying to see if they work on his or her machines. I'm well aware that they don't work everywhere, and if needed I could write some file with fixing common issues people had like repeating speech or slowe game play. and I won't mension how many people play old mainstream games on modern day machines. - Original Message - From: "Phil Vlasak" To: "Gamers Discussion list" Sent: Sunday, August 02, 2009 1:20 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] old dos games under windows? Re: [Audyssey] Olympic games playable for us?
Yes,I play only on my computer and it is Fifa 2001.This version have stereo system, where is your goal and where is opponents.:)Or Fifa 99,but this is not so good.:)And NHL?Hm,best blind friendly sound version is 2000,but I don.t know why isn.t function on Win XP.And it have very one problem,it is not keyboard menu. What a pity.NHL 2000 is not keyboard menu,Fifa2001 is not keyboard menu, but is best for us for sounds in game.New versions have keyboard menu and you can learn options and how many you must press down,up,right or left arrow to select your team, time period and options, but it is not so sounds quality. - Original Message - From: "Matheus" To: Sent: Sunday, August 02, 2009 2:47 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Olympic games playable for us? hi,what versions of fifa and nba you play? and is it on the computer? i'd love to play these games. -Mensagem original- De: "Angellko21" Para: "Gamers Discussion list" Data: Domingo, 2 de Agosto de 2009 14:36 Assunto: [Audyssey] Olympic games playable for us? No, for if I hit the letter q that totally mutes everything. If I go into the sounds menu and raise engine sounds, it does not seem to make a difference. [Audyssey] my first game recording
Greetings gamers I am proud to announce my first game recording done in pipe2. I have used a program called step voice recorder version 1.7. It's a small program with easy controls such as pressing enter will start recording and space is used to stop the recording or the playback and also to play the recording. I hope this is the first of many exciting game recordings from me. I plan to record game play in the near future where I chat to gamers while I am playing. I have bought myself a microphone but it seems like it is broken so I have to go back to the store and insist on either a replacemen or a refund. So here is my first game recording where I play pipe2 on easy difficulty. In This recording I am not talking, butI hope to make game recordings in the near future where I can chat with you all. So I hope you enjoy this recording. Let me know what you think of the sound quality. If you know this recording program, and you kno of a way to improve the sound quality, let me know. [Audyssey] dos games again
hello, the following is a klango forum post about classic dos games. also if anyone knows if any night football for dos works in windows I'd like to have the full copy of that game, along with full copy of world series baseball for dos. And now, for even "more" good news! Listen to the following from Phil "very" carefully: Hi Trenton I finally broke down and purchased a new computer with Vista. I will be trying out my DOS games on it. Is there something you did to get Jim Kitchen's DOS games to work on your computer? Phil Yes folks, they work wonderflly on "Vista!" And now, my message to Phil himself: - Original Message - From: Trenton Matthews To: p...@pcsgames.net Sent: Sunday, November 09, 2008 1:20 PM Subject: Kitchen's Inc Games For Dos Confirmed On Vista Platform! Hello Phil, If you can't upload any of the dos games that you have, can I at least donate something to you for the game snipe hunt or Panzars In North Africa? Jim's Dos version of bopit game has no problems with the Vista basic machine I have. So I just wanted to let ya know that they are working fine on my machine with no problems. I know you're probably annoyed by now about this, I just wanted to let ya know that I am not having any problems. All you'd have to do, is make a disclaimer on your dos games page that no support for these titles is available, and if something happens to their pc, its not your fault. Your dos games for the blind, are like what the atari was for the sighted gamer. They may not have been workable with every sound card on the market, but at least you provided different sound drivers for the game to at least have a way to produce its sounds, and I liked what you created! Windows may be the way of the future, however DOS still has its pride. Re: [Audyssey] dos games again
Hi Josh, I know there are a few people who can still play the old PCS DOS games but giving all my DOS games away for free would not be a good business move as I plan to make windows versions of many of them. Re: [Audyssey] dos games again
but look,to make windows versions of these games it will take monts, and it's really simple, make a file explaining the steps that the user have to do to be able to run the games, and explain that since it was a collection of old games, you aren't going to give support / answer to questions related to the games, and that if it doesn't works, to the user simple don't play it. and still, if you are going to make windows versions of these games it will take more time from you, that's even worse bekause you will do something again that's already finished. a lot of peoples want these games, they sayd here, on the klango forums, even created a petition. -Mensagem original- De: "Phil Vlasak" Para: "Gamers Discussion list" Data: Domingo, 2 de Agosto de 2009 18:28 Assunto: Re: [Audyssey] dos games again Hi Josh, I know there are a few people who can still play the old PCS DOS games but giving all my DOS games away for free would not be a good business move as I plan to make windows versions of many of them. Hello, My name is Josh Kennedy. I am blind and use a screen reader called NVDA www.nvda-project.organd jaws from www.freedomscientific.com . I have the following comments to make about flightGear. 1. according to another source it's halfway accessible. 2. the menus are a custom control. Could you please add a standard menu bar, and keyboard equivalents for all program functions so blind and vissually impaired people can use this program? 3. [Audyssey] kitchen's puppy game
Just wanna say that it is a very fun and easy to play game- great for passing the time and to hone one's reflexes. I've been reading alot of the Star Wars books, particularly the X-Wings series, and have been hoping to come accross something that'd allow me to try out an X-wing dogfight rofl. I think if Jim got the time, he can probably just modify this game a bit with new sounds and text, and I'd have our first audio Xwing fighter game. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Re: [Audyssey] dos games again
What Phil does with his creations and or collaborations is up to him. Getting DOS games to work on Windows platforms might not be as easy as you think. It may take a lot of time and effort, so I find no problem if he wants to do that work in his own time, as much time as he wants to take doing that work, and charging what he feels is a fair price for the redone games. If people don't want to pay for them, or if people want games he is not willing to work on right now, but plans to work on in the future, so be it. Just as Jim Kitchen has gotten several requests to make his game online multiplayer games, and he has decided not to do so, we should accept the decision of the game creator. Make sense?? --- Shepherds are the best beasts. - Original Message - From: "Matheus" To: Sent: Sunday, August 02, 2009 3:42 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] dos games again but look,to make windows versions of these games it will take monts, and it's really simple, make a file explaining the steps that the user have to do to be able to run the games, and explain that since it was a collection of old games, you aren't going to give support / answer to questions related to the games, and that if it doesn't works, to the user simple don't play it. and still, if you are going to make windows versions of these games it will take more time from you, that's even worse bekause you will do something again that's already finished. a lot of peoples want these games, they sayd here, on the klango forums, even created a petition. Also despite putting a notice that I would not support them, I am sure to get hundreds of messages complaining that the games don't work on their computers. If another game developer is willing to collaborate and help me produce windows versions of my old games I would welcome any contact. - Original Message - From: "Josh" To: "gamers list" Sent: Sunday, August 02, 2009 5:03 PM Subject: [Audyssey] dos games again hello, the following is a klango forum post about classic dos games. also if anyone knows if any night football for dos works in windows I'd like to have the full copy of that game, along with full copy of world series baseball for dos. You can still make your windows port of all the games you've ever made, but just like the sighted gamer, there isn't a sighted that could not be found online for free. And that's why I, and at least 5 other folks want the games back on the market! And here's proof to that claim: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/pcsdosgames One of the users on Klango has started a petition to get these games back. If you don't want to bring back your "famous" games for me, then do it for your fans of the audio gaming world, and I just don't mean for the "audiogames.net" web site! And yes, on the front page close to the top of the galaxy, it says "A devision of PCS Games!" The "Gaming Galaxy" was made in your honor, and the only way its "going away," is if your web site does. I just wanted you to know that. Take care, and happy gaming! Sincerely, Trento
