Re: [Gimp-developer] [PATCH] Improve brush outline for fuzzy brushes, sample screenshot included
what about printing a semi transparent copy of the actual brush on the canvas? Is it possible? The "ghosted" brush can have two opacities, one for the preview when the tool isn't in use, and one more transparent when the tool is in use. I wouldn't mind to have a simple circle of the size of the brush as the default mode and an alternative option for overlaying a semi-transparent brush image. ___ Gimp-developer mailing list Gimp-developer@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-developer
[Gimp-developer] PyGimp on Windows XP
I am trying to get PyGimp installed and working on Windows XP. It seems like this should be easier than it used to be. A quick google lead to several long install procedures. I have been using PyGimp in Ubuntu and am quite happy with it, but I know need to use it in windows. Preparation: My computer has Python 2.5 and PyGTK. Install: I ran the installer I downloaded from here: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gimp-win/gimp-2.6.7-i686-setup.exe with PyGTK installed, if gives me the option to install the Python extension (I did this). I don't get any error messages, but it doesn't seem like PyGIMP is really working. Unlike in Ubuntu, I don't have any Python menu items under Filters, I don't see any place to launch a Python console, and it doesn't recognize any of the scripts I have in $HOME\\.gimp-2.6\\plug-ins Are there other installation steps I am missing? How would I know if PyGIMP was really working under windows? I agree with you, personally I wouldn't take any issues at all if he used the images in a reasonable way (such as giving credit to GIMP). Since he asks for permission though I assume he cares a lot about not violating any licenses, and since he wants to distribute in CC but the image (when distributed with GIMP) is under GPL, he has a problem, strictly speaking. But again, taking legal action would be insane IMHO. / Martin -- My GIMP Blog: http://www.chromecode.com/ ___ Gimp-developer mailing list Gimp-developer@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-developer

Hello Martin, tanks for your reply. I understand your point, so i have three qustions: Do we get the permission promoting GIMP in TORCS-NG in general? Who is the author of the Wilber image located in "/usr/share/gimp/2.0/images/wilber.png" (Tuomas Kuosmanen too?) ? Is the GIMP typo at the webpage (http://www.gimp.org/images/frontsplash26.png) a font or a special artwork? Who is the author of it? [Gimp-developer] introducing myself
Hello, all of you! My name is Volodia, I'm from Romania and I join the gimp developer list because i'm very interested in contributing for (I hope i can do something usefull!). By the other way, I want to tell you that me and my group (SbLUG) are trying just now to build an online romanian gimp community, a portal in romanian language for developers and users of GIMP, with sources, tutorials, forums, news... We select now a proper web graphic way to do that, and i'll promote that when will be ready to use. So, in few words: i'm happy to be here and hope to do something usefull from now. Some advices or comments from you are welcome... Thanks. volodia ___ Gimp-developer mailing list Gimp-developer@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-developer
